Chelidonura Fulvipunctata
''Biuve fulvipunctata'', the white-speckled headshield slug, is a species of sea slug or headshield slug, a marine opisthobranch gastropod mollusc in the family Aglajidae. This species is widespread in the Indian and Pacific Oceans but has invaded the Mediterranean Sea since 1961, despite apparently being absent from the Red Sea until recorded there in the 21st century. It is the only species in the monotypic genus ''Biuve''. Etymology The former generic name ''Chelidonura'' means "swallow-tail" referring to the two lobes which extend out from the back of the mantle shield, while the specific name ''fulvipunctata'' is a compound meaning tawny or dull yellow (''fulvus'') and spotted (''punctata''). Distribution ''Biuve fulvipunctata'' is widely distributed in the western Pacific from Mexico and Hawaii west to Japan and the east coast of Australia and Lord Howe Island, through Indonesia and the tropical Indian Ocean to the Mascarene Islands, Mozambique and South Africa. ''Cadlina'' is a genus of sea slugs, dorid nudibranchs, shell-less marine gastropod mollusks historically classified in the family Chromodorididae.Bouchet, P.; Gofas, S. (2011). Cadlina Bergh, 1878. Accessed through: World Register of Marine Species at http://www.marinespecies.org/aphia.php?p=taxdetails&id=137781 on 2011-03-03 Recent research by R.F. Johnson in 2011 has shown that ''Cadlina'' does not belong to the family Chromodorididae.Johnson R. F. Bornella Japonica
''Bornella'' is a genus of sea slugs, specifically dendronotid nudibranchs in the family Bornellidae. There has not been much research on this genus. Their biology is mostly unknown, except that they seem to feed exclusively on hydroids. Distribution These nudibranchs occur in the Indo-West Pacific. In addition there is one species in the tropical eastern Pacific, and one species in the western Atlantic. Description Their body is covered with cerata-like dorsal and lateral outgrowths, with finger-like branches. They have an attached cluster of gills. Their rounded head shows on each side of the mouth a tentacle, with tiny finger-like papillae. The sheath of the rhinophore stands high and resembles the dorsal processes. Feeds on hydroids. The various species differ in their color pattern and their number of dorsal and lateral outgrowths and the number of branches on their rhinophore sheath. Anatomy These nudibranchs are characterized by an unpaired oral gland. In their genit ...
