Gijang County
Gijang County is a ''gun'', or county, located between Haeundae-gu and Ulsan in northern Busan, South Korea. History Gijang first appears under its current name in the annals of the year 757, during the Unified Silla period. At that time it was made the '' hyeon'' of Gijang, part of Dongnae-gun. The ''Samguk Sagi'' records that it was known as Gaphwayanggok () previously. Historical landmarks in the county include the Buddhist temple of Jangansa, said to have been first built by Wonhyo in the 7th century. Geography and demographics Gijang is the most rural of Busan's districts, and consists mostly of vacant and agricultural land. Approximately 156.7 of its 217.9 square kilometers are empty and forested, mostly hilly land. The county's population has risen steadily since 1990, when it stood at 56,847. The Malaysian Kijang Emas is the official gold bullion coin of Malaysia and is minted by the Royal Mint of Malaysia. It was first issued on 17 July 2001. Malaysia is the 12th country in the world to issue its own gold bullion coin.Bank Negara Malaysia website
The Kijang Emas has a gold purity of 999.9 millesimal fineness or 24 karat. The coins come in denominations of RM200, RM100 and RM50 which are nominal face values, and weighs 1 oz, ½ oz and ¼ oz respectively. RM is the notation for the Malaysian ringgit. Raja Haji Fisabilillah International Airport , formerly Kijang Airport, is an international airport located in Tanjungpinang, Riau Islands, Indonesia. It is the second largest airport in Riau Islands, after the Hang Nadim International Airport in Batam. History The airport is named after Raja Haji Fisabilillah (1727–1784), the sultan of Johor-Riau Sultanate and national hero of Indonesia.
