Aldine Silliman Kieffer
Aldine Silliman Kieffer (August 1, 1840 – November 30, 1904) was a leading 19th century proponent of shape note musical notation, music teacher and publisher. Kieffer was born near Miami, Saline County, Missouri. He died in Dayton, Virginia, and is buried there. Kieffer was the grandson of Mennonite musician Joseph Funk. After Funk's death, he and Ephraim Ruebush took over Funk's publishing company. With Ruebush and John W. Howe, Kieffer founded the Kieffer, Ruebush, & Company music company circa 1873, which was moved from Singers Glen to Dayton, Virginia, in 1878. Kieffer was editor of the ''Musical Million and Fireside Friend'' periodical. The ''Musical Million'', published from 1870 until 1914, was one of the leading tools promoting shape note music for almost a half century. Eduardo Gudiño Kieffer (November 2, 1935 – September 20, 2002) was an Argentina, Argentine writer. Biography Kieffer was born on November 2, 1935 in Esperanza, Santa Fe in Argentina. He was the son of writer Luis Gudiño Kramer. On his mother side, he is related to Argentinean painter Sebastian Spreng. He was part of the Latin Americans, Latin American literature boom of the 1960s. He graduated as a lawyer at the Universidad del Litoral in Santa Fe, Argentina, Santa Fe but never practiced law. Guy-André Kieffer (born 25 May 1949) is a journalist of dual French and Canadian nationality who worked in West Africa generally, and in Côte d'Ivoire specifically. On April 16, 2004, he was kidnapped from an Abidjan parking lot and has not been seen since. Hans Josef Kieffer (4 December 1900 – 26 June 1947) was a Sturmbannführer (Major) and the head in Paris of the Sicherheitsdienst (SD), the intelligence agency of the SS during the German occupation of France during the Second World War. Kieffer's headquarters were at 84 Avenue Foch, an address that became well-known because many captured agents of the United Kingdom's clandestine Special Operations Executive (SOE) were interrogated there after their capture. After their interrogation, captured agents were sent to concentration camps in Germany and most were executed. Jean-Jacques Kieffer (1857 in Guinkirchen – 1925 in Bitche) was a French naturalist and entomologist who specialised in the study of parasitic insects. Educated as a priest, Kieffer taught natural science in Bitche, Lorraine while working on the description and classification of insects. His work and publications later became a predominant source of description and classification for entomologists in the early 20th century, in particular with regard to parasitoid wasps, midges, and mosquitos. Robert Leo Kieffer (September 11, 1930 – August 12, 2017) was an American businessperson and politician from Maine. Kieffer, a Republican, served in the Maine State Senate from 1992 to 2000, representing his residence in Caribou, Maine as well as much of Aroostook County. He replaced fellow Republican Donald Collins, who did not seek re-election. Prior to serving in the State Senate, Kieffer served five years on the Caribou Town Council, including a stint as mayor (1991-1992).
