Khrystyna Soloviy
Khrystyna Ivanivna Soloviy (or Solovii, uk, Христина Іванівна Соловій; born 17 January 1993 in Drohobych, Ukraine) is a Ukrainian- Lemko folk singer. Biography Soloviy was born on 17 January 1993 in Drohobych into a family of choral conductors. She moved with her family to Lviv and for three years sang Lemko's folk songs in the choir "Lemkovyna". Khrystyna is a quarter Lemko by origin. She graduated from the philological faculty of the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. Drohobych
Drohobych ( uk, Дрого́бич, ; pl, Drohobycz; yi, דראָהאָביטש;) is a city of regional significance in Lviv Oblast, Ukraine. It is the administrative center of Drohobych Raion and hosts the administration of Drohobych urban hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. In 1939–1941 and 1944–1959 it was the center of Drohobych Oblast. The city was founded at the end of eleventh century as an important trading post and transport node between Kyiv Rus' and the lands to the West of Rus'. After extinction of the local Ruthenian dynasty and subsequent incorporation of the Kingdom of Galicia–Volhynia into the Polish Kingdom by 1349, from the fifteenth century the city was developing as a mercantile and saltworks centre. ''Жива вода'' ( en, Living water) is the debut studio album by Ukrainian recording artist Khrystyna Soloviy. It was released on 22 September 2015 in Ukraine through Supersymmetry. Information The album consists of 12 songs, two of which were written by Khrystyna, the other ten — folk songs (9 Lemko and 1 Ukrainian) in the author's adaptation. The recording of the album took place in Kyiv, at the studio "ZvukoTseh". The sound-producers of the album were Miloš Jelić and Svyatoslav Vakarchuk.
