Khromove
Khromove (; russian: Хромово, Khromovo) is a rural-type settlement in eastern Ukraine, located in Bakhmut urban hromada, Bakhmut Raion, Donetsk Oblast. Before 2016, it was known as Artemivske ( uk, Арте́мівське, link=no; russian: Артёмовское, Artyomovskoye, link=no). Geography Khromove is a small settlement. Before the Russian invasion of Ukraine that heavily damaged the infrastructure of Khromove, it consisted of "a few streets of several dozen houses". It is a suburb of Bakhmut. It has an area of . History Khromove is the historical name of the settlement. In the mid-19th century, the farm on a hill near modern Khromove was bought by a merchant with the surname " Khromov", from which the name of the settlement is derived. Bakhmut urban hromada () is a hromada of Ukraine, located in Bakhmut Raion, Donetsk Oblast. Its administrative center is the city Bakhmut. It was founded on 26 June, 2019, from the merger of local village councils in Bakhmut Raion. The hromada contains 19 settlements: 1 city (Bakhmut), 1 urban-type settlement ( Krasna Hora), 13 villages: And 4 rural-type settlements: Zelenopillia, Opytne, Khromove and Yahidne. Battle Of Bakhmut
The Battle of Bakhmut is an ongoing series of military engagements in and near the city of Bakhmut between Ukrainian Armed Forces and the Russian Armed Forces during the larger battle for Donbas. Shelling of Bakhmut began in May 2022, but the main assault towards the city began on 1 August after Russian forces advanced from the Popasna direction after a Ukrainian withdrawal from that front. The main assault force primarily consists of mercenaries from the Russian paramilitary organization Wagner Group, supported by regular Russian troops and DPR and LPR separatist elements. As of late 2022, following Ukraine's Kharkiv and Kherson counteroffensives, the Bakhmut-Soledar front became an important focus of the war, being one of the few front lines in Ukraine where Russia remained on the offensive.
