Khalil Al-Ghamdi
Khalil Ibrahim Jalal Al Ghamdi ( ar, خليل إبراهيم جلال الغامدي; born 2 September 1970) is a Saudi Arabian football referee. He is known for being a referee at the 2007 AFC Asian Cup. He has been a FIFA international referee since 2003. Biography Outside of refereeing, he works as a teacher and lives in Riyadh. He also officiated at the 2008 Olympics and the 2006 FIFA Club World Cup, as well as the 2006 FIFA World Cup and 2010 FIFA World Cup qualification phases. He was preselected as a potential referee for the 2010 FIFA World Cup, with his selection confirmed on 5 February 2010. He refereed the Group A match between Mexico and France on 17 June 2010 and the Group H match between Switzerland and Chile on 21 June 2010. The 2010 AFC Cup was the seventh edition of the AFC Cup, playing between clubs from nations who are members of the Asian Football Confederation. With the Asian Football Confederation currently reviewing the format of the AFC Champions League between 2009 and 2010 season, significant changes were made in the way the competition is run, the teams that will qualify for the AFC Cup is also expected to be from different countries compared to the previous editions. Qualification The preliminary qualification scheme for the AFC 2010 was released in 2008. AFC Cup
The AFC Cup is an annual continental club football competition organised by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). Under its current rules, the competition is played primarily between clubs from nations that did not receive direct qualifying slots in the top-tier AFC Champions League, based on the AFC Club Competitions Ranking. Al-Kuwait SC and Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya are the most successful clubs in the competition's history, having won three titles each. Clubs from Kuwait have won four titles, making them the most successful nation in the competition. Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium
Jaber al-Ahmad International Stadium ( ar, ملعب جابر الأحمد الدولي) is a multi-purpose stadium in the Ardhiyah area of Kuwait City, Kuwait. Completed in 2009, it is used mostly for football matches and athletics. The stadium has a capacity of 60,000 seated spectators, the building is constructed in 4 levels, with 54 corporate boxes and parking lot with a 6,000 car capacity. It was expected to open in second quarter of 2010, but the building failed structural-integrity testing and remained closed due to a miscalculation by structural engineers for nearly half a decade.
