Keyaar
Kothanda Ramaiah (also known as K.R and Keyaar) is an Indian Tamils, Tamil film director, producer, distributor and exhibitor. He has held various leading positions in different film industry organizations. Career KR studied film processing at the M.G.R. Government Film and Television Training Institute, Adyar Film Institute in Chennai in 1972. Upon graduation in 1975, he spent three years as a technician in DD Chennai, Doordarshan Kendra. KR made his debut film as a director and producer with the Malayalam film ''Sisirathil Oru Vasantham''. Prior to its release, the film faced a number of distribution problems and was eventually released by Suguna Screens in 1980. Although the film failed at the box office, it provided him the incentive to move into film distribution and exhibition across Tamil Nadu covering territories including: Chennai City, North Arcot, South Arcot, Chengelpet, Pondicherry, and Tirupathi. ''Dancer'' is a 2005 Indian Tamil-language dance film written and directed by Keyaar. The film was produced by Yogesh KR under KR Infotainment Pvt. Ltd. The film which revolves around a handicapped dancer with one leg was released on 12 January 2005. ''Eeramana Rojave'' () is a 1991 Indian Tamil-language film, writte, directed and produced by Keyaar. The film stars newcomer Shiva, Mohini, Srividya and Nassar. It was released on 12 January 1991. Plot Shanthi and Siva go to the same college and after some initial misunderstandings, fall in love. A psychotic fellow student, known as Helmet, tortures any couple he sees that are in love. He's sadistic and despises love. Shanthi's friend Anitha and her boyfriend Ravi are killed by Helmet. This spurs Shanthi to stand up against him. Helmet conspires to get Siva expelled as revenge and Shanthi, in turn, has Helmet arrested. Shanthi's rich father JK (Nassar) learns about his daughter's love and arranges her marriage with the son of his friend. ''My Dear Kuttichathan'' () is a 1984 Indian Malayalam-language fantasy film directed by Jijo Punnoose and produced by his father Navodaya Appachan under Navodaya Studio. It was the first Indian film to be filmed in 3D format. With screenplay by Raghunath Paleri, the story revolves around a mystical indigenous Genie called " Kuttichathan" who is under the spell of an evil sorcerer, however it gets released by three children and then befriends them. The film's soundtrack was composed by Ilaiyaraaja, while cinematography and editing was done by Ashok Kumar and T. R. Shekhar, respectively. It was the debut of actors Jagadish and Zainuddin. Tamil Nadu State Film Awards
Tamil Nadu State Film Awards were given for excellence in Tamil cinema in India. They were given annually to honour the best talents and provide encouragement and incentive to the South Indian film industry by the Government of Tamil Nadu. The awards were decided by a committee headed by a Judge. The awards were first given in 1967 and discontinued after 1970. The awards were given again in 1977 and continued till 1982. The awards were not given in the years 1971 to 1976.
