Kevin Swanson (pastor)
Kevin Swanson is a preacher and broadcaster from Colorado, known for his condemnation of homosexuality as well as his advocacy of Christian education. He is the pastor of Reformation Church in Elizabeth, Colorado, which is a member church of the Covenant Presbyterian Church. He is the director of Generations, which produces ''Generations'', a daily podcast hosted by Swanson. Swanson is also a writer for ''The World View in 5 Minutes'', a daily online Christian newscast. Personal life Swanson was born to missionaries, growing up in Japan in the 1960s and 1970s, and was educated by his parents. He attended and graduated from California Polytechnic State University with a degree in engineering. Uganda Anti-Homosexuality Act, 2014
The Anti-Homosexuality Act, 2014 was an act passed by the Parliament of Uganda on 20 December 2013, which prohibited sexual relations between persons of the same sex. The act was previously called the "Kill the Gays bill" in the western mainstream media due to death penalty clauses proposed in the original version, but the penalty was later amended to life in prison. The bill was signed into law by the President of Uganda Yoweri Museveni on 24 February 2014. On 1 August 2014, however, the Constitutional Court of Uganda ruled the act invalid on procedural grounds. The act would have broadened the criminalisation of same-sex relations in Uganda domestically. The November 2015 Paris attacks () were a series of coordinated Islamist terrorist attacks that took place on Friday, 13 November 2015 in Paris, France, and the city's northern suburb, Saint-Denis. Orlando Nightclub Shooting
On , 2016, Omar Mateen, a 29-year-old man, killed 49 people and wounded 53 more in a mass shooting at Pulse, a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida, United States. Orlando Police officers shot and killed him after a three-hour standoff.
