Kevin Nolan (Gaelic Footballer)
Kevin Nolan (born 19 September 1988) is a Gaelic footballer who formerly played for Kilmacud Crokes and the Dublin county team. On the field of play, Nolan won a Sigerson Cup with DCU; an All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship with Kilmacud Crokes; a National Football League and All-Ireland Senior Football Championship with Dublin, winning the man of the match award for his performance in the final of the latter. Early life Nolan was raised in the Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown suburb of Monkstown. He attended Holly Park for his education. He played association football with St Joseph's Boys in Sallynoggin. English association football clubs Leicester City and Blackburn Rovers expressed an interest and invited him to go to England for trials. Kilmacud Crokes GAA
Kilmacud Crokes ( ir, Cill Mochuda Na Crócaigh) is a large Gaelic Athletic Association club located in Stillorgan, Dublin, Republic of Ireland. Background Kilmacud GAA club was formed in 1959 following a historic public meeting in Saint Laurence's Hall, where Stillorgan shopping centre now stands. The first meeting of the club took place on 12 March 1959. Sixty people attended the meeting and donated a shilling each, meaning the club made IR£3.30 on the night. The club decided to use green-and-white jerseys, but they later decided to use the gold-and-purple colours, some say because of the local school Scoil Lorcain Naofa who also use gold and purple, others say it was because blue are the colours of the crocus. In 1963 the club purchased a -acre site behind the Ormonde Cinema as a permanent home pitch for themselves, Páirc de Burca, and in 1965 the adjoining Glenalbyn House was bought. Leinster Senior Club Football Championship
The Leinster Senior Club Football Championship is an annual Gaelic football tournament played on a knockout basis between the senior club championship winners of the competing counties in Leinster. The current holders of the Leinster title are Ballyboden St. Enda's from Dublin. Offaly side Gracefield were the first winners of the Leinster senior club football championship in the 1970–71 season. The most successful clubs are St. Vincent's from Dublin and Portlaoise from Laois, who have won the Leinster championship on seven occasions. Carlow club Éire Óg won 5 championships in 7 years in the 1990s. Dublin clubs have won the Leinster championship twenty one times, which is more than double any other county. Lucan, Dublin
Lucan ( ; ga, Leamhcán) is a town in Ireland, located 12 km west of Dublin city centre on the River Liffey. It is near the Strawberry Beds and Lucan Weir, and at the confluence of the River Griffeen. It is mostly under the jurisdiction of South Dublin County Council with the exception of the North Lucan areas of Laraghcon, Coldblow and Saint Catherine's Park which are in the jurisdiction of Fingal County Council. International Rules Series
The International Rules Series is a senior men's international rules football competition between the Australia international rules football team (selected by the Australian Football League) and the Ireland international rules football team (selected by the Gaelic Athletic Association). The series is played biannually over two Test matches in November after the completion of the AFL Grand Final and the All-Ireland Football Final, which are both traditionally played in late September, and the winner is the team with the highest cumulative score over both Tests; however, there have been six unscheduled years since 2009. Jim Gavin (footballer)
Jim Gavin (born 1 July 1971) is an Irish List of Gaelic football managers, Gaelic football manager and former Gaelic football, player. He was the manager of the senior Dublin county football team, Dublin county team from 2012 to 2019, becoming the county's most successful manager in terms of major titles won. Gavin is regarded as one of the best Manager (Gaelic games), managers in the modern game. Gavin was introduced to Gaelic football by his father, a native of County Clare, Clare and former chairman of the local club team in Clondalkin. Ger Brennan is an Irish Gaelic footballer who plays for St Vincents and, formerly, for the Dublin county team. Early life From a family of nine, he attended Belvedere College. At Belvedere he played rugby, soccer, hurling and Gaelic football. Graduating from Maynooth College with undergraduate and master's degrees, he qualified as a school teacher and taught Irish and religion at St. Kevin's College, Ballygall Road, in Dublin 11. The 2011 All-Ireland Football Final was the 124th event of its kind. It was the culmination of Gaelic football's premier competition, the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship, and was played between Kerry and Dublin on 18 September 2011 at Croke Park, Dublin.
