Kevin Grant (soccer)
Kevin Grant (born 25 July 1952) is a Canadian former international soccer player who played for the Canada men's national soccer team between 1971 and 1976, and is currently the U17 head coach for Hamilton United Elite girls program. Playing career Grant was born in London, England, and moved to Burlington, Ontario at the age of 15. He played club soccer with East Hamilton Cougars, East Hamilton Legion, and Hamilton Croatia. Despite being an international in the 1970s he did not play as a professional in the North American Soccer League (1968–84), North American Soccer League. In 1978, he played in the Canadian National Soccer League, National Soccer League with Hamilton Italo-Canadians. He signed with Buffalo Blazers for the 1980 National Soccer League (Canada) season, 1980 season. Willesden
Willesden () is an area of northwest London, situated 5 miles (8 km) northwest of Charing Cross. It is historically a parish in the county of Middlesex that was incorporated as the Municipal Borough of Willesden in 1933, and has formed part of the London Borough of Brent in Greater London since 1965. The National Soccer League was a soccer league in Canada that existed from 1926 to 1997. Teams were primarily based in the provinces of Ontario and Quebec. The league was renamed to Canadian National Soccer League in 1993 following the folding of the Canadian Soccer League, and the accepting of the Winnipeg Fury, making the league more national. Tony Taylor (footballer, Born 1946)
Anthony Taylor (born 6 September 1946) is a former professional footballer, who made 345 appearances in the Scottish League and Football League playing mainly as a left back. Playing career Taylor began his career at Kilmarnock in 1962, before moving to Celtic from 1964 to 1967. However he did not make a first team appearance for either club. In 1967, he signed for Morton making 22 appearances before signing for Crystal Palace on 31 October 1968. Taylor played in 195 league games for Crystal Palace between then and 1974, scoring eight goals. It was during this period that he was converted from a winger to left back. His debut came on 9 November 1968 in a 2–0 away win against Oxford United and Taylor was ever present for the remainder of that season (25 appearances) which saw Palace reach the top tier for the first time. Canadian Soccer League (1987–1992)
The Canadian Soccer League was a Division 1 professional soccer league that operated for six seasons between 1987 and 1992. It was a nationwide league that had teams in six provinces over the course of its history. It was the last top-division league in Canada until the Canadian Premier League began play in 2019. Colin Franks
Colin James Franks (born 16 April 1951) is an English former footballer. At the start of his career he played predominantly as a midfielder, but he was increasingly used as a defender towards the end of his career. Born in Wembley, Franks started his career as an amateur in the North London and Hertfordshire area, with Boreham Wood, Uxbridge and Wealdstone. He turned professional in 1969, joining newly promoted Second Division side Watford. Although largely a reserve during his first two seasons at the club, he played a part in Watford's run to the semi-finals of the 1969–70 FA Cup, and played in the third place play-off match. Franks established himself as a regular in the Watford first team in the 1971–72 season with 44 appearances, but his team were unable to stave off relegation to the Third Division. Frank Pike (soccer)
Frank Pike (26 March 1930 – 1 June 2010) was a Canadian soccer player and coach. Career Frank Pike was born in Plymouth, England, and played in midfield as an amateur for hometown club Plymouth Argyle F.C Coaching career Pike, as a Canadian citizen, began his coaching career in 1955. Coaching professional teams in the late 1950s and early 1960s. In 1964, he coached in the National Soccer League with Toronto Tridents, and Toronto Roma in the Eastern Canada Professional Soccer League. Pike became involved at the national level with the Canadian World Cup Team in 1968. The Hamilton Steelers were a Canadian soccer team in Hamilton, Ontario that competed in the original Canadian Soccer League, the original Canadian Professional Soccer League, National Soccer League and the Challenge Trophy. The club played mainly out of Brian Timmis Stadium, which was adjacent to Ivor Wynne Stadium. The Mexico national football team () represents Mexico in international football and is governed by the Mexican Football Federation (). It competes as a member of CONCACAF. Mexico has qualified to seventeen World Cups and has qualified consecutively since 1994, making it one of six countries to do so. The 1975 Pan American Games were held in Mexico City, Mexico, from October 12 to October 26, 1975, exactly twenty years after the second Pan American Games were held there. It was the third major sporting event held in the Mexican capital in seven years, after the 1968 Summer Olympics and the 1970 FIFA World Cup. Host city election Two cities submitted bids to host the 1975 Pan American Games that were recognized by the Pan American Sports Organization.
