Ben-Zion Keshet
Ben-Zion Keshet (, born 1914, died 8 August 1984) was an Israeli politician who served as a member of the Knesset for Gahal and Likud between 1969 and 1977. Biography Born in Riga in the Russian Empire (today in Latvia), Keshet attended a Hebrew high school in his home city. He joined the Betar youth movement and helped establish the Estonian branch in 1932. In 1934 he made aliyah to Mandatory Palestine, where he became a member of the governing council of Betar in 1935. He also became a member of Betar's enlistment battalion and of the central committee of the National Labour Federation in Eretz-Israel, on which he served between 1939 and 1942. From 1942 until 1943 he was a member of the general staff of the Irgun, before being exiled to Eritrea in 1944. Eli Keshet ( he, אלי קשת) is an Israeli biochemist and professor of molecular biology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He is the laureate of the 2021 Israel Prize for Life Sciences. Biography Keshet completed his B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. His post-doctoral work included studies in the laboratory of Howard Temin at the University of Wisconsin (1976–79). In 1982 he began teaching at the Hebrew University, becoming an associate professor in 1986 and a full professor in 1993. Shula Kehset (in Hebrew: שולה קשת; born on August 2, 1959) is an Israeli social and political activist and entrepreneur, Mizrahi feminist, artist, curator, writer, educator, and publisher; one of the founders and the executive director of the MIzrahi feminism movement, " Ahoti – for Women in Israel". Keshet is the leading figure in the struggle of the residents of South Tel Aviv against deportation of the African asylum seekers, and since the 1980s has been leading the protest movement against the Tel Aviv central bus station, which is located in the Neve Sha'anan neighborhood, contributing to crime, pollution, noise, overcrowding and drugs. Yeshurun Keshet
Yeshurun Keshet (; 29 November 1893 – 22 February 1977), born Ya'akov Yehoshua Koplewitz, was an Israeli poet, essayist, translator and literary critic. Biography Keshet was born in Mińsk Mazowiecki, Congress Poland, and sent by his parents to Tel Aviv in 1911 to attend the Herzliya Hebrew Gymnasium. Between 1920 and 1926 he studied at universities in Rome and Berlin, and also taught in Marijampole, Lithuania. He Hebraized his surname following the establishment of the State of Israel in 1948. Work Keshet's volumes of poetry include ''Ha-Helekh ba-Aretz'' (1932), ''Elegyot'' (1944), and ''Ha-Ḥayyim ha-Genuzim'' (1959). Keshet ( he, קשת, keshet, rainbow) is a national grassroots organization with offices in Boston, New York, and the San Francisco Bay Area that works for the full equality and inclusion of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer Jews in Jewish life. Led and supported by LGBTQ Jews and straight allies, Keshet offers resources, training, and technical assistance to create inclusive Jewish communities nationwide. Rainbow
A rainbow is a meteorological phenomenon that is caused by reflection, refraction and dispersion of light in water droplets resulting in a spectrum of light appearing in the sky. It takes the form of a multicoloured circular arc. Rainbows caused by sunlight always appear in the section of sky directly opposite the Sun. Rainbows can be full circles. However, the observer normally sees only an arc formed by illuminated droplets above the ground, and centered on a line from the Sun to the observer's eye.
