Kerry Barr
Kerry Barr (born 20 August 1986) is a Scottish curler from Murrayfield. She is a former World Junior champion. Career As a junior curler, Barr played in her first World Junior Curling Championships in 2005, playing third for the Victoria Sloan rink. The team finished 7th in the tournament for Scotland. The following year, Barr was invited to be the alternate player for Scotland at the 2006 Ford World Women's Curling Championship, but she would not play in any games. In her final year of juniors, Barr played third on the Eve Muirhead rink at the 2008 World Junior Curling Championships. The team won the gold medal, defeating Sweden's Cecilia Östlund in the final. After juniors, Barr joined the Sarah Reid at third. Barr played in the 2010 European Mixed Curling Championship, Barr played third for the Scottish team (skipped by David Edwards) that won the gold medal, defeating Switzerland in the final. Currie And Balerno Curling Club
Currie ( gd, Currach, IPA: kʰuːᵲəx is a village and suburb on the outskirts of Edinburgh, Scotland, situated south west of the city centre. Formerly within the County of Midlothian, it now falls within the jurisdiction of the City of Edinburgh Council. It is situated between Juniper Green to the northeast and Balerno to the southwest. It gives its name to a civil parish. In 2001, the population of Currie was 8,550 and it contained 3,454 houses. Etymology The name is recorded from 1210 onwards under various spellings such as ''Curey'', ''Cory'', ''Curri'' with ''Currie'' in 1402. There is no accepted derivation of the name Currie but it is possibly from the Scottish Gaelic word ''curagh/curragh'', a wet or boggy plain, or from the Brythonic word ''curi'', a dell or dirt hole. The Scottish Women's Curling Championship is the national women's curling championship for Scotland. The championship usually decides which team of curlers is sent to the World Women's Curling Championship, but in Olympic years, the winner must play the British Olympic representative to play to determine the Scottish team at the Worlds. Cecilia "Cissi" Östlund (born 10 January 1988) is a Swedish curler. She was skip for the Swedish team at the 2008 World Junior Curling Championships in Östersund, winning a silver medal and she was the skip of the Swedish team at the 2010 Ford World Women's Curling Championship in Swift Current, Canada, finishing fourth In June 2010 it was announced that Östlund's team would join forces with Anette Norberg, with Östlund playing third.
