History Toolmaker Dieter Keppeler began working as a firearm designer at the Carl Walther factory in Ulm in 1958. Here he was involved in the development of the sniper rifle Walther WA 2000. In 1982, Dieter Keppeler established his first independent company "''Dieter Keppeler - Waffentechnische Werkstatt''" in Langenau to produce 300 m competition rifles. As early as in 1985 the German national team used rifles produced by Keppeler in the European Championships. In 1987 Keppeler left Carl Walther for good. Tanner Sportwaffen AG is a Swiss firearms manufacturer based in Fulenbach, Switzerland. The company was founded in 1955 by André Tanner, and is known for having produced bolt-action rifles for shooters at the top level within CISM and ISSF shooting for a number of years. Grünig + Elmiger AG (G&E) is a Swiss firearms manufacturer that produces bolt-action rifles with a main focus on CISM and ISSF shooting, which are designed to be competitive at the World Cup and Olympic level. G&E firearms can be delivered with or without a stock. Their Racer series of .22 Long Rifle-calibre rifles became noted by 2018 when they were used to win a number of medals at the ISSF World Championships. Seonaid McIntosh won the Women's 50metre prone rifle event with a Racer3 in an XRS stock. Bleiker is a Swiss manufacturer of bolt-action rifles aimed solely for use in ISSF target shooting. Unlike their larger competitors (e.g. J. G. Anschütz or Feinwerkbau), Bleiker has a narrow product range with no hunting line, and no entry level or intermediate models in their target line. The 7mm-08 Remington is a rifle cartridge that is almost a direct copy of a wildcat cartridge developed around 1958 known as the 7mm/308. As these names would suggest, it is the .308 Winchester case necked down to accept 7 mm (.284) bullets with a small increase in case length. History The 6mm XC was initially developed specifically for NRA High Power match shooting by 11-time NRA High Power National Champion David Tubb.
