Ken King
Kenneth Paul King (born December 28, 1971), is an American businessman and politician. He is a Republican member of the Texas House of Representatives from District 88 in the Texas Panhandle. King is a businessman engaged in the oil and natural gas industry. Career Politics On July 31, 2012, King defeated first-term incumbent Republican Jim Landtroop, an insurance agent from Plainview, in a runoff election. King received 7,541 votes (54 percent) to Landtroop's 6,426 ballots (46 percent). The runoff was required because of the unsuccessful candidacy of a third candidate, former State Representative Gary Walker. King serves on the Judiciary & Civil Jurisprudence and Public Education committees. He was elected to his second term in office on November 4, 2014, with a margin of 91.2 percent over a Libertarian opponent. In 2016, King was unopposed in both the primary and general elections. Kenneth Michael King (January 26, 1952 – March 11, 2020) was a Canadian sports executive. He was the vice chairman of Calgary Sports and Entertainment, as well as alternate governor of the Calgary Flames in the NHL. He was the chairman and governor of the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League (CFL), and the Calgary Hitmen's governor of the Western Hockey League (WHL). Ken King died on March 11, 2020, at the age of 68 from cancer. Jonathan King (born Kenneth George King; 6 December 1944) is an English singer, songwriter and record producer. He first came to prominence in 1965 when "Everyone's Gone to the Moon", a song that he wrote and sang while still an undergraduate, achieved chart success. As an independent producer, he discovered and named the rock band Genesis in 1967, producing their first album ''From Genesis to Revelation''. He founded his own label UK Records in 1972. He released and produced songs for 10cc and the Bay City Rollers. Kenneth James King (born 1940) is since September 2005 Professor Emeritus of International and Comparative Education at the University of Edinburgh. He is a historian, an Africanist and former Director of the Centre of African Studies (CAS) at Edinburgh. King obtained a Bachelor of Arts Classical Tripos from the University of Cambridge, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education at the Institute of Education, London. He taught African History at a secondary school in Addis Abeba, Ethiopia, and earned a PhD degree in African history at the University of Edinburgh in 1968. He then worked at the University of Nairobi before returning to Edinburgh, where he was a Lecturer, Reader and Professor. Kenneth King, born in Dublin, Ireland (1939 - 2019) was a notable international marine artist who was a Chaplain in the Royal Navy before he became a full-time artist. King's studio, "Straid Studio-Gallery", is in Glencolmcille, a Gaeltacht or Irish language speaking region in County Donegal, Ireland. King's father was Richard King, best known for his designs of Irish postage stamps and his work in stained glass. A second-generation Judson Dance Theatre choreographer, much of King's experimental dance repertoire combines different movements styles with dramatic material and technological advances, emphasizing the importance of the human body through expressionism and symbolism. Kenneth Leon King (born March 7, 1957) is an American former professional football player who was a running back for seven seasons in the National Football League (NFL), mainly with the Oakland/Los Angeles Raiders.
