Kenneth Grant (American Football)
Kenneth Grant (born October 27, 2003) is an American football defensive tackle for the Michigan Wolverines. In 2023, he earned All-Big Ten honors and won the national championship. Early life Grant was born in 2003 in Merrillville, Indiana, the son of Kenneth Grant Sr. and Ewana Chatman. He attended Merrillville High School, where he played football as an offensive and defensive lineman. He also competed in the shot put for the track and field team. As a senior, he totaled 38 tackles, 14.5 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks and blocked 8 kicks (four field goal attempts, two punts, and two extra point attempts), helping lead Merrillville to an undefeated regular season and a 12-1 overall record. Grant was rated as a four star recruit, the #3 ranked player in Indiana, and the #102 overall ranked high school player in the country in 2022. The Michigan Wolverines football team represents the University of Michigan in college football at the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision level. Michigan has the most all-time wins in college football history. The team is known for its distinctive winged helmet, its fight song, its record-breaking attendance figures at Michigan Stadium, and its many rivalries, particularly its annual, regular season-ending game against Ohio State, known simply as “The Game,” once voted as ESPN's best sports rivalry. Kaytron Lamont Allen (born January 8, 2003) is an American football running back for the Penn State Nittany Lions. Early life and high school career Allen grew up in Norfolk, Virginia. He initially attended Norview High School and rushed for 1,465 yards and 16 touchdowns as a freshman before transferring to IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. A defensive tackle (DT) is a position in American football that will typically line up on the line of scrimmage, opposite one of the offensive guards, however he may also line up opposite one of the tackles. Defensive tackles are typically the largest and strongest of the defensive players. Depending on a team's individual defensive scheme, a defensive tackle may be called upon to fill several different roles. These roles may include merely holding the point of attack by refusing to be moved, or penetrating a certain gap between offensive linemen to break up a play in the opponent's backfield. If a defensive tackle reads a pass play, his primary responsibility is to pursue the quarterback, or simply knock the pass down at the line if it is within arm's reach.
