Kelantan State Assembly
The Kelantan State Legislative Assembly ( ms, Dewan Undangan Negeri Kelantan) is the unicameral state legislature of the Malaysian state of Kelantan. It consists of 45 members representing single-member constituencies throughout the state. Elections are held no more than five years apart. The State Legislative Assembly convenes at the Kota Darul Naim in the state capital, Kota Bharu. Muhammad V Of Kelantan
Sultan Muhammad V (Jawi alphabet, Jawi: ; born 6 October 1969) has reigned as the 29th Sultan of Kelantan since September 2010 and served as the 15th Yang di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia from December 2016 until his abdication in January 2019. He was proclaimed Sultan of Kelantan on 13 September 2010, succeeding his father, Ismail Petra of Kelantan, Sultan Ismail Petra, who was deemed incapacitated by illness. Sultan Muhammad V was proclaimed Yang di-Pertuan Agong on 13 December 2016. He became the first Yang di-Pertuan Agong to abdication, abdicate from the federal throne, effective 6 January 2019. Kelantan State Election, 2018
The 14th Kelantan State election was held on 9 May 2018, concurrently with the 2018 Malaysian general election. The previous state election was held on 5 May 2013. The state assemblymen is elected to 5 years term each. The Kelantan State Legislative Assembly would automatically dissolve on 13 June 2018, the fifth anniversary of the first sitting, and elections must be held within sixty days (two months) of the dissolution (on or before 13 August 2018, with the date to be decided by the Election Commission), unless dissolved prior to that date by the Head of State (Sultan of Kelantan) on the advice of the Head of Government (Menteri Besar of Kelantan). A state legislative assembly ( ms, Dewan Undangan Negeri, DUN; also known simply as state assembly) is the legislative branch of the state governments in each of the 13 Malaysian states. Members of a state legislative assembly comprises elected representatives from single-member constituencies during state elections through the first-past-the-post system. The assemblies have powers to enact state laws as provided for by the Constitution of Malaysia.
