Keith King
Keith King (born March 12, 1948, in Tekoa, Washington) is Republican politician from Colorado. A former small businessman, he served in both the Colorado House of Representatives and the Colorado Senate. Later, he served on the Colorado Springs City Council, representing District 3 from 2013 to 2017. From 1999 to 2006, King represented House District 21 in the Colorado House of Representatives. On November 7, 2002, the Republican Caucus of the House chose King to serve as their Majority Leader, a post he held during the 2003-2004 legislative session. During this session, King also filled in as Governor of Colorado for a week. King was term-limited from the House at the end of 2006. King spent the first half of 2007 preparing to open Colorado Early Colleges Colorado Springs, one of the charter schools he has founded. Colorado's 12th Senate district is one of 35 districts in the Colorado Senate. It has been represented by Republican Bob Gardner since 2017, succeeding fellow Republican Bill Cadman. Geography District 12 is based in southern Colorado Springs in El Paso County, also covering the nearby communities of Cimarron Hills, Fort Carson, and parts of Security-Widefield, Falcon, and Stratmoor. The Vanguard School (TVS) is a public charter school in Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States. Founded as the Cheyenne Mountain Charter Academy (CMCA) in 1995, it is chartered with the Harrison School District 2. Originally founded as a K–6 charter school, the school expanded to a K–12 school by 2006, and it graduated its first class of seniors in 2010.
