Keith Jaure (born 2 March 1998) is a Zimbabwean cricketer. He made his Twenty20 debut for Zimbabwe in the 2017 Africa T20 Cup on 15 September 2017. He made his List A debut for Mashonaland Eagles in the 2018–19 Pro50 Championship on 12 December 2018. He made his first-class debut for Mashonaland Eagles in the 2018–19 Logan Cup on 4 February 2019. Cricket
Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The batting side scores runs by striking the ball bowled at one of the wickets with the bat and then running between the wickets, while the bowling and fielding side tries to prevent this (by preventing the ball from leaving the field, and getting the ball to either wicket) and dismiss each batter (so they are "out"). Means of dismissal include being bowled, when the ball hits the stumps and dislodges the bails, and by the fielding side either catching the ball after it is hit by the bat, but before it hits the ground, or hitting a wicket with the ball before a batter can cross the crease in front of the wicket. Twenty20
Twenty20 (T20) is a shortened game format of cricket. At the professional level, it was introduced by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) in 2003 for the inter-county competition. In a Twenty20 game, the two teams have a single innings each, which is restricted to a maximum of 20 overs. Together with first-class and List A cricket, Twenty20 is one of the three current forms of cricket recognised by the International Cricket Council (ICC) as being at the highest international or domestic level. 2017 Africa T20 Cup
The 2017 Africa T20 Cup was the third edition of the Africa T20 Cup, a Twenty20 cricket tournament. It was held in South Africa from 25 August to 25 September 2017, as a curtain-raiser to the 2017–18 South African domestic season. Organised by Cricket South Africa, it featured thirteen South African provincial teams, as well as national representative sides of Kenya, Namibia and Zimbabwe. The sixteen participating teams were split into four pools of four, with the teams from each pool playing all of their matches at one ground across a single weekend. List A Cricket
List A cricket is a classification of the limited-overs (one-day) form of the sport of cricket, with games lasting up to eight hours. List A cricket includes One Day International (ODI) matches and various domestic competitions in which the number of overs in an innings per team ranges from forty to sixty, as well as some international matches involving nations who have not achieved official ODI status. Mashonaland Eagles
The Mashonaland Eagles is one of five cricket Zimbabwean cricket franchises. They are based in the Harare Metropolitan and Mashonaland Central area and play both first-class and limited overs cricket. They play their home matches at Harare Sports Club in Harare. Franchise history In the 2009–10 season, Zimbabwe Cricket following the decline of the standard of cricket, decided to use a new set of teams in all the first-class, List A and T20 domestic formats of the game. The 2018–19 Pro50 Championship was the seventeenth edition of the Pro50 Championship, a List A cricket tournament that was played in Zimbabwe, which started on 8 December 2018. The tournament featured four teams, instead of the five that took part in the previous edition, with the Rising Stars being disbanded. The other change to the 2018–19 tournament was that it was played across six rounds, instead of ten, as per previous years. The Rising Stars were the defending champions. The Mashonaland Eagles were the first team to qualify for the final of the tournament. They were joined in the final by the Matabeleland Tuskers, after they won their penultimate fixture by eight wickets. Mashonaland Eagles won the tournament, beating Matabeleland Tuskers by two wickets in the final. First-class Cricket
First-class cricket, along with List A cricket and Twenty20 cricket, is one of the highest-standard forms of cricket. A first-class match is one of three or more days' scheduled duration between two sides of eleven players each and is officially adjudged to be worthy of the status by virtue of the standard of the competing teams. Matches must allow for the teams to play two innings each, although in practice a team might play only one innings or none at all. The etymology of "first-class cricket" is unknown, but it was used loosely before it acquired official status in 1895, following a meeting of leading English clubs. At a meeting of the Imperial Cricket Conference (ICC) in 1947, it was formally defined on a global basis. The tournament featured four teams, instead of the five that took part in the previous edition, with the Rising Stars being disbanded. In January 2019, the matches in the third round of fixtures were both called off, following fuel protests taking place in the country. 2020–21 Logan Cup
The 2020–21 Logan Cup was the 27th edition of the Logan Cup, a first-class cricket competition in Zimbabwe, which started on 9 December 2020. After originally scheduled to start on 3 December 2020, the tournament was moved back a week to allow time to setup a bio-secure bubble. Five teams took part in the competition, including the Southern Rocks, who last played in the 2013–14 tournament. There was no defending champion, after the previous tournament was voided due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Four matches were played during December 2020. However, on 3 January 2021, Zimbabwe Cricket halted all cricket in the country following a rise in COVID-19 cases. In mid-March 2021, it was reported that the tournament would resume later that month, with the next round of matches starting on 18 March 2021.
