The Helsinki Metro is a metro system in Helsinki, Finland. It was opened on 2 August 1982 and remains the only metro system in Finland and the furthest north in the world. Keilaniemi ( sv, Kägeludden) is a district in the south-eastern part of Espoo, Finland. Geography Keilaniemi is bordered by the university district of Otaniemi to the north, the commercial/residential district of Tapiola to the west, the Keilalahti bay separating Espoo and Helsinki to the east, and the Gulf of Finland to the south. The distance from Keilaniemi to the centre of Helsinki along the Länsiväylä highway is about 8 km. There are numerous islands and islets in Keilaniemi, including Fröknarna and Leppäluoto. An island platform (also center platform, centre platform) is a station layout arrangement where a single platform is positioned between two tracks within a railway station, tram stop or transitway interchange. Island platforms are popular on twin-track routes due to pragmatic and cost reasons. Länsimetro
Länsimetro (English: Western Metro, Swedish: Västmetron) is an extension to the Helsinki Metro system in Finland. The grand opening for the long-awaited extension was held on 18 November 2017. Länsimetro extends the system's two lines, M1 and M2, from Central Helsinki to the neighbouring city of Espoo. The new stretch continues the lines from the existing Ruoholahti station via the island of Lauttasaari, the Aalto University Otaniemi campus and Tapiola, the terminus of line M2. Fortum Head Office
Accountor Tower is a high-rise office building, designed by architects Castrén–Jauhiainen–Nuuttila, located in the Keilaniemi district of Espoo, just outside Helsinki, the capital of Finland. With a height of 84 metres (274 feet), it is currently the fifth tallest habitable building in Finland, and was the tallest building in Finland from its construction in 1976 until 2006. Formerly known as the Fortum Head Office and before that Neste Tower, as of May 2018 it is the headquarters of the Nordic financial software company Accountor. Koivusaari Metro Station
Koivusaari metro station (, ) is a station located underwater on the Länsimetro extension of the Helsinki Metro. Although the metro station is named after Koivusaari, the westernmost island in Helsinki, it is actually located on the extreme western edge of the Lauttasaari island. It is located 2.3 kilometres east from Keilaniemi metro station and 1.6 kilometres west from Lauttasaari metro station. The eastern entrance to Koivusaari metro station is located on Sotkatie in Lauttasaari. The western entrance, on the island of Koivusaari itself, had not been taken into use when the Länsimetro was completed, it is waiting until land use in the area has developed enough.
