Keilaniemi
Keilaniemi ( sv, Kägeludden) is a district in the south-eastern part of Espoo, Finland. Geography Keilaniemi is bordered by the university district of Otaniemi to the north, the commercial/residential district of Tapiola to the west, the Keilalahti bay separating Espoo and Helsinki to the east, and the Gulf of Finland to the south. The distance from Keilaniemi to the centre of Helsinki along the Länsiväylä highway is about 8 km. There are numerous islands and islets in Keilaniemi, including Fröknarna and Leppäluoto. Offices Keilaniemi is a high-rise business district mostly known for the numerous head offices of large corporations located there. Tieto Keilalahti Campus/Microsoft Talo (formerly named Nokia House) is the head office building of Tieto and Microsoft Finland, located in Keilaniemi, Espoo, just outside Helsinki, the capital of Finland. History The campus was built between 1995-1997 as headquarters for Nokia by architect Pekka Helin. It comprises three separate structures: The two most southern parts of the building were built in the early 1990s and the third, most northern part was built in 2000. Nokia operated in the building from 1997 to 2014, with around 5000 employees working in the premises. Länsiväylä (the Western Highway, Swedish: Västerleden) is a motorway in the Greater Helsinki area of Finland, mainly at the Helsinki conurbation. It is part of the Finnish national road 51. The road begins in Ruoholahti in western Helsinki and continues west through the island of Lauttasaari and then across the city border to Espoo. The Länsiväylä road continues all the way throughout the southern part of Espoo. It continues as a motorway until finally crossing the border west to Kirkkonummi. Otaniemi
Otaniemi (Finnish), or Otnäs (Swedish), is a district of Espoo, Finland. It is located near the border of Helsinki, the capital of Finland. Otaniemi is located on the southern shore of the Laajalahti bay, next to the district of Tapiola near the border to Helsinki. It is part of the Greater Tapiola major district.
