Patsy Rouzer Keever (born December 20, 1947) is a North Carolina educator and Democratic politician. Family and education Patsy Rouzer Keever was born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina. She attended NC public schools and graduated from Duke University with a B.A. in Elementary Education. She started graduate work, earning a master's degree in Education from Western Carolina University. Keever and her late husband John F. Keever were married for 34 years. They lived in Asheville where they raised two daughters. She has four grandchildren and continues to reside in Asheville, where she lives with her second husband Jim Aycock, former publisher of '' Black Mountain News.'' Teaching career Keever was a teacher for over 25 years. For the majority of her career, she taught 8th grade social studies and language arts. Trijntje Cornelisdochter Keever (10 or 16 April 1616 – 2 July 1633), nicknamed De Groote Meid (in English, ''The Big Girl''), is alleged to be the tallest female person in recorded history, standing 9 Amsterdam feet or tall at the time of her death at age seventeen. Trijntje Keever was the daughter of Cornelis Keever and Anna Pouwels. Cornelis was a Dutch skipper and Anna was his maid; he married her on May 24, 1605. Trijntje was born on April 10 or 16, 1616, in Edam. Keever's parents took her to carnivals to earn some money by letting people see her. Trijntje first received public attention when she was nine years old and had reached the height of . Jack Keever (c. 1938 – July 18, 2004) was an American journalist and author, best known his coverage of Charles Whitman's 1966 shooting spree. Personal Keever collected books and memorabilia that were associated with the history of Texas. In his free time, he volunteered as a member of the author-selection committee for the Texas Book Festival. Education Keever graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1960. He later received his master's degree in journalism. Career Keever began his career as the managing editor of ''The Daily Texan'' in 1959. He joined the Associated Press in 1961, where he would remain for thirty years.
