Jacob Kautz
Jacob Kautz (also Jakob Kautz) (c. 1500 – c. 1532) was an Anabaptist who posted seven theses to the door of the Worms Cathedral in 1527. He undermined the authority of the church with accusations of idolatry. In essence, he took Martin Luther's protest to the logical conclusion that individual freedom of conscience should be enshrined in law. The protest claimed that by baptising infants (and by indoctrinating children with church customs), the church was suppressing individual free will. Thus, church supporters were not acting on any decision of their own but merely because they were given no other choice. A soul cannot be saved by force, but only by moral persuasion that leads to a conscious decision to embrace salvation. Baptism must be willingly chosen by an adult who understands the meaning of the act. The protest also criticized Martin Luther Martin Luther (; ; 10 November 1483 – 18 February 1546) was a German priest, theologian, author, hymnwriter, and prof ... Julius Kautz
Gyula Kautz (5 November 1829 – 27 March 1909) was a notable Hungarian economist. The Faculty of Economics at the Széchenyi István University holds his name. Education Born in Győr, he started his University studies at the Royal Academy of Philosophy at Győr. After two academic years, he moved to Pest to study at the University of Pest, where he earned his doctorate in law in 1850. He then went on to study abroad for a year, visiting universities of Berlin, Heidelberg and Leipzig. He was influenced by the English classical school of Economics, and also by Wilhelm Roscher, then a professor at Leipzig, a representative of the German historian school. Academia He started his academic career in 1851, with an assistant lecturer position at the Royal Academy of Justice at Pozsony. He moved to work as a regular teacher at the Royal Academy of Justice at Nagyvárad in 1853. His subject was the Austrian financial law, then political economics. In 1858 he moved back to ... Kautz Creek
Kautz Creek is a tributary of the Nisqually River, flowing from the Kautz Glacier, with its watershed in the Mount Rainier National Park of Washington. It drains southwest from Mount Rainier for about before it joins the Nisqually River near Mount Rainier Highway. It is notable for being a severe flooding hazard due to the volume of summer glacier melt and its frequently changing course. The Kautz Creek Falls on the headwaters of the creek was formed by the retreat of the Kautz Glacier in the past 50 years. Kautz Creek was named after A. V. Kautz, an army officer and mountain climber. Hydrology The channel of Kautz Creek is very steep and narrow, because it has eroded through the relatively soft material that the lahars and mudflows have deposited. The creek flows in a trench that is wide and up to deep, and its course often changes during floods. Lahars The creek is notorious for its history of severe floods and mudflows. On October 2 and 3, 1947, heavy rains triggered a '' ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Kautz Creek Falls
Kautz Creek Falls is a waterfall on Kautz Creek in the Mount Rainier National Park in the state of Washington. It was formed when the Kautz Glacier retreated in the last 50 years, creating a series of long and slender cascades totaling about in height down a tall glacial cliff, with a highest drop of . The falls consist of two parts, each with two distinct tiers. One of these parts flows from the upper lobe of the Kautz Glacier and disappears under the lower lobe. The water flowing over this stage is generally clear. As the water passes underneath the lower lobe, however; it has a muddy appearance caused by glacial moraine A moraine is any accumulation of unconsolidated debris (regolith and rock), sometimes referred to as glacial till, that occurs in both currently and formerly glaciated regions, and that has been previously carried along by a glacier or ice shee ..., which explains the muddy appearance of Kautz Creek. Kautz Glacier
The Kautz Glacier is a narrow glacier on the southern flank of Mount Rainier in Washington. Named for August Kautz, who is sometimes credited for the first ascent of Mount Rainier, covers and contains 7.8 billion ft3 (221 million m3) of ice. Upper Kautz Glacier extends south from the summit ice cap to Kautz Ice Cliff at about . Immediately west of the main ice cliff, the glacier continues down Kautz Chute which terminates in another ice cliff just above the lower Kautz Glacier at . Usually reached by a short descent from Camp Hazard at on Wapowety Cleaver, climbers following the Kautz Glacier climbing route ascend this chute to the upper glacier. Starting from the Kautz Glacier Headwall at about , the lower glacier flows generally south-southwest between the Kautz and the Wapowety Cleaver. Just before it meets the Success Glacier, the Kautz makes a right turn and heads west for a short distance. After the two glaciers meet, the resultant glacier reaches down to about before ... Kautz Filter
In signal processing, the Kautz filter, named after William H. Kautz, is a fixed- pole traversal filter, published in 1954. Like Laguerre filters, Kautz filters can be implemented using a cascade of all-pass filters, with a one-pole lowpass filter at each tap between the all-pass sections. Orthogonal set Given a set of real poles \, the Laplace transform of the Kautz orthonormal basis is defined as the product of a one-pole lowpass factor with an increasing-order allpass factor: :\Phi_1(s) = \frac :\Phi_2(s) = \frac \cdot \frac :\Phi_n(s) = \frac \cdot \frac . In the time domain, this is equivalent to :\phi_n(t) = a_e^ + a_e^ + \cdots + a_e^, where ''ani'' are the coefficients of the partial fraction expansion as, :\Phi_n(s) = \sum_^ \frac For discrete-time Kautz filters, the same formulas are used, with ''z'' in place of ''s''. Relation to Laguerre polynomials If all poles coincide at ''s = - ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Kautz Graph
The Kautz graph K_M^ is a directed graph of degree M and dimension N+ 1, which has (M +1)M^ vertices labeled by all possible strings s_0 \cdots s_N of length N + 1 which are composed of characters s_i chosen from an alphabet A containing M + 1 distinct symbols, subject to the condition that adjacent characters in the string cannot be equal (s_i \neq s_). The Kautz graph K_M^ has (M + 1)M^ edges \ \, It is natural to label each such edge of K_M^ as s_0s_1 \cdots s_, giving a one-to-one correspondence between edges of the Kautz graph K_M^ and vertices of the Kautz graph K_M^. Kautz graphs are closely related to De Bruijn graphs. Properties * For a fixed degree M and number of vertices V = (M + 1) M^N, the Kautz graph has the smallest diameter of any possible directed graph with V vertices and degree M. * All Kautz graphs have Eulerian cycles. (An Eulerian cycle is one which visits each edge exactly once—This result follows because Kautz graphs have in-degree equal to ou ...
