''Kauf MICH!'' ("Buy ME!") is the ninth album by Die Toten Hosen, released in 1993. The LP is mainly a concept album dealing with consumerism and ultraconservatism. Along with the album's art and several songs addressing commerce, satirical advertisements and infomercials are interspersed among the music. In addition, the concept of right wing extremism as exemplified by ultraconservatism and neo-Nazism in the songs "Wilkommen in Deutschland" and "Sascha ...ein aufrechter Deutscher" is explored, which excited controversy during the time of the album's release. Die Toten Hosen (literally "The Dead Trousers", figuratively "The Deadbeats") is a German punk rock band from Düsseldorf. History The current members of Die Toten Hosen are Campino (Andreas Frege), Kuddel (Andreas von Holst), Vom (Stephen Ritchie), Andi (Andreas Meurer) and Breiti (Michael Breitkopf). All members except one are German, though Campino's mother, Jenny, was English. The drummer Vom comes from England. He joined in 1999, after previous drummer Wölli sustained injuries in a car crash. Wölli had played from 1985 to 1999 and was an honorary member of the band until his death in 2016. The drummer until 1985 was Trini Trimpop, who became the band's manager when Wölli joined. The LP is mainly a concept album based on the film ''A Clockwork Orange'' by Stanley Kubrick, which in turn is based on the book of the same name by Anthony Burgess, although not all of the songs are about the main theme. The idea of the LP has its origin during a performance of ''A Clockwork Orange'' at Theater Bonn where the band acted as supernumeraries and as supporting band. "Alles aus Liebe" (''All from love'') is a song by the German punk rock band Die Toten Hosen. It is the third single and the twelfth track from the album '' Kauf MICH!''. The song is narrated by a man, who doesn't know how to correctly express and emphasise his love towards a woman and decides to commit a suicide to prove his love. However, in the end of the song he decides, that they should go together. In the end of the song, three shots are heard. "Kauf MICH!" (''Buy ME!'') is a song by Die Toten Hosen. It's the fourth single and the seventh track from the album '' Kauf MICH!''. The single cover is designed as a typical washing powder box. The uniqueness of the song is, that lyrically narrator puts himself "on the market", coinciding with the theme of commercialism. One of the b-sides, "Der heiße Draht", is based on an idea of people calling and singing DTH songs over the phone. For the single, this was divided in three parts. On the re-release of ''Kauf MICH!'', a best-of from these calls was made. Andreas Frege (born 22 June 1962), known professionally as Campino, is a German-British singer, best known as the lead vocalist of Die Toten Hosen, a German punk rock band. Biography Campino was born in Düsseldorf and is a descendant of the Frege family who owned the (Frege House) in Leipzig. His grandfather Ludwig Frege was the president of the Federal Administrative Court of Germany. He grew up as the son of a judge and a teacher. His mother was English, and raised her children to be bilingual. He has five siblings including his older brother John, who introduced him to punk music. At the age of two he moved with his parents to Mettmann, near Düsseldorf, Germany. Campino went to the Humboldt-Gymnasium secondary school in Düsseldorf.
