Katsura Imperial Villa
The , or Katsura Detached Palace, is an Imperial residence with associated gardens and outbuildings in the western suburbs of Kyoto, Japan. Located on the western bank of the Katsura River in Katsura, Nishikyō-ku, the Villa is 8km distant from the main Kyoto Imperial Palace. The villa and gardens are nationally recognized as an Important Cultural Property of Japan. The grounds of the villa are regarded as a notable exemplar of traditional Japanese gardening. Tea ceremony houses within the strolling gardens and the main villa itself are all sited to maximize appreciation of varied foliage and changing seasonal vistas. The palace originally belonged to the prince of the '' Hachijō-no-miya'' (八条宮) family. The Imperial Household Agency currently administers the site. The was the one of the four ''shinnōke'', branches of the Imperial Family of Japan which were eligible to succeed to the Chrysanthemum Throne in the event that the main line should die out. It was founded by Prince Toshihito, a grandson of Emperor Ōgimachi and brother of Emperor Go-Yōzei. It is the second oldest of the ''shinnōke'', after the Fushimi-no-miya. The characters from the anime and manga series ''Gintama'' were created by Hideaki Sorachi. Katsura Utamaru
was a Japanese rakugo comedian best known for hosting the '' Shōten'' comedy show on Nippon TV. He is known as a master of the Japanese comic art of rakugo, in which a single performer or storyteller appears on stage and tells comedic stories to the audience. Career Born in Yokohama, Utamaru's real name was Iwao Shiina. He became an apprentice of the rakugoka Kokontei Imasuke V in 1951 at the age of 15, assuming the name Kokontei Imaji. He left rakugo for a while, then became the apprentice of Katsura Yonemaru, assuming the new name Katsura Yonebo. He was also known in Toronto for his musical version of Aristophanes' "Clouds". Biography Sunshine was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, to parents of Slovenian origin.
