Kathryn Flett
Kathryn Alexandra Flett (born 1 April 1964) is a British TV critic, author, and star of the BBC's ''Grumpy Old Women'' series. Early life Daughter of songwriter Douglas J. Flett and Patricia (née Jenkins), she was educated at Notting Hill & Ealing High School, and Hammersmith and West London College. At the age of 16, by which time her parents had been divorced for seven years, Flett's mother "flattered erinto thinking hewas so grown-up and on top of things that hedidn’t really need any hands-on mothering any more", sending her to live with her father, whilst her mother returned to her native Australia with the man who would become Flett's stepfather, Arthur. Flett has remained largely estranged from her mother since this time. Career Flett began her career as a staff writer for '' i-D'' Magazine in 1985. Watford
Watford () is a town and borough in Hertfordshire, England, 15 miles northwest of Central London, on the River Colne. Initially a small market town, the Grand Junction Canal encouraged the construction of paper-making mills, print works, and breweries. While industry has declined in Watford, its location near London and transport links has attracted several companies to site their headquarters in the town. Cassiobury Park is a public park that was once the manor estate of the Earls of Essex. The town developed next to the River Colne on land belonging to St Albans Abbey. Grumpy Old Women
''Grumpy Old Women'' is a British television series, continuing in the same vein as its predecessor, '' Grumpy Old Men''. Both programmes are shown on BBC Two. The first two series were narrated by Alison Steadman, and the third by Judith Holder (who is the 'grumpy old woman' in the clips). Doug Flett
Douglas Jackson Flett (13 October 1935 – 15 July 2019) was an Australian songwriter based in the UK, best known for his collaborations with longtime songwriting partner, Guy Fletcher. Collectively, the duo have also been known as Fletcher & Flett. Since the mid-1960s, they wrote and composed hit songs for many artists. Career Before moving to London in the early 1960s, Flett had worked in Sydney as a TV cameraman and in advertising. While in London, he was introduced to Guy Fletcher in 1965 by Shadows drummer Tony Meehan through a phone call, and the two met up. Since then, the duo wrote many songs for a wide number of artists including Elvis Presley, Ray Charles, Cliff Richard and Frankie Valli. ''The Face'' is a British music, fashion, and culture monthly magazine originally published from 1980 to 2004, and relaunched in 2019. ''Arena'' was a British monthly men's magazine. The magazine was created in 1986 by Nick Logan, who had founded ''The Face'' in 1980, to focus on trends in fashion and entertainment. British graphic designer Neville Brody, who had designed ''The Face'', designed ''Arena's'' launch appearance. The headquarters of ''Arena'' was in London. The magazine was part of Bauer Media and featured articles on food, films, fitness, sex, music, electronics, and books. ''Miss Naked Beauty'' is a short-lived, six-episode 2008 reality television show produced by Maverick Television that aired on Channel 4 in the United Kingdom. The show, presented by Gok Wan and Myleene Klass, was conceived as a radical "reality" take on beauty pageants. Some 7000 women applied to become the "ultimate 21st century beauty queen".
