Katharina Fröhlich
Katharina "Kathie" Fröhlich (10 June 1800 – 3 March 1879) was engaged to Franz Grillparzer for 50 years. She founded the Schwestern-Fröhlich-Stiftung in Vienna, and became a patron of artists and writers. Life Katharina Fröhlich was born in Vienna in 1800 as the third of four daughters of Matthias Fröhlich (14 April 1756 – 24 August 1843) and Barbara Mayr (1764–1841). Franz Grillparzer
Franz Seraphicus Grillparzer (15 January 1791 – 21 January 1872) was an Austrian writer who was considered to be the leading Austrian dramatist of the 19th century. His plays were and are frequently performed at the famous Burgtheater in Vienna. He also wrote the oration for Ludwig van Beethoven's funeral, as well as the epitaph for his friend Franz Schubert. While writing during the period of Romanticism, Grillparzer's poetic language owes far more to the period of Classicism which reigned during his formative years. Committed to the classical ideals of aesthetic beauty and morality, his plots shy away from the realism which developed during his time, preferring instead to use the theater to address spiritual values, which in the words of the dying queen of his Libussa, would only come after the period of Materialism had passed. Josephine Fröhlich
Josephine "Pipi" Fröhlich (12 December 1803 in Vienna – 7 May 1878 in Vienna) was an Austrian opera singer ( alto). Family Josephine Fröhlich had three sisters, Anna Frölich (1793-1880), Barbara Fröhlich (1797-1879), and pianist Katharina Fröhlich (1800-1879). Their household was a prominent place for musical activity within Vienna. Franz Schubert was a good friend of the family, and a frequent guest at music gatherings at their home, where he often performed his own compositions or improvised on the piano. At Anna's request, he wrote a few compositions for Anna, Josephine and Anna's students. Schubert wrote the solo part in two of his major compositions for Josephine's voice. The poet Franz Grillparzer, who also was a family friend, wrote the lyrics to the compositions. The two works are Zögernd Leise D 921 (1827) and the cantata Miriam Siegesgesang D 942 (1828). The Franz Grillparzer Prize was a literary award, named after the writer Franz Grillparzer. It was established in 1872, shortly after his death, by his lover, Katharina Fröhlich. After her death in 1879, the award was continued by a donation to the Austrian Academy of Sciences.. Marie Eugenie Delle Grazie
Marie Eugenie Delle Grazie (14 August 1864 – 18 February 1931) was an Austrian writer, considered one of the most successful women writers of her time. She was a recipient of the Bauernfeld Prize. Life The daughter of Cäsar Delle Grazie, inspector general for Erste Donaudampfschiffahrtsgesellschaft and director for a coal mining company, she was born in Weißkirchen in Hungary. After the death of her father in 1873, the family moved to Vienna. She was educated at a girls' school and then attended one year at Sankt Anna, a teachers college. She continued her education with , a professor of Christian philosophy at the University of Vienna. Delle Grazie wrote poetry from an early age, publishing her first collection ''Gedichte'' in 1882.
