Kate Finster
Kate Finster (born December 14, 2003) is an American pair skater. With her former skating partner, Balazs Nagy, she is the 2020 U.S. national junior champion, the 2019 U.S. national junior silver medalist, and the 2019 JGP Poland silver medalist. Personal life Kate Finster was born on December 14, 2003 in Louisville, Kentucky to Jay and Stacey Finster. She has four siblings named Cameron, Chase, Maddie, and Caroline, and her older brother Chase also competes nationally in figure skating. Kate and Chase live together while training in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Finster's family owns three cats and three dogs. She enjoys playing water sports, long boarding, baking, cooking, spending time with friends, and going to the beach. Finster is an honor roll student who studies through Connections Academy. The 2019 World Junior Figure Skating Championships were held in Zagreb, Croatia from 4 to 10 March 2019. Pair Skater
Pair skating is a figure skating discipline defined by the International Skating Union (ISU) as "the skating of two persons in unison who perform their movements in such harmony with each other as to give the impression of genuine Pair Skating as compared with independent Single Skating".S&P/ID 2021, p. 109 The ISU also states that a pairs team consists of "one Woman and one Man". Pair skating, along with men's and women's single skating, has been an Olympic discipline since figure skating, the oldest Winter Olympic sport, was introduced at the 1908 Summer Olympics in London. 2018–19 ISU Junior Grand Prix
The 2018–19 ISU Junior Grand Prix was the 22nd season of a series of junior international competitions organized by the International Skating Union. It was the junior-level complement to the 2018–19 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating. Skaters competed for medals in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dance, as well as for qualifying points. The top six from each discipline met at the 2018–19 Junior Grand Prix Final, which was held together with the senior final. Competitions The locations of the JGP events change yearly. Delilah Sappenfield
Dalilah Sappenfield is an American figure skating coach and choreographer who specializes in pair skating. She has worked as a coach since 1993 and is the 2008 USFSA/PSA Coach of the Year, an award she won after her pair teams won the gold medals at the novice, junior, and senior levels at the 2008 U.S. Figure Skating Championships. Her pair Alexa Scimeca Knierim & Chris Knierim qualified to the 2018 Winter Olympics. She is the adoptive mother of Laureano Ibarra, and he and his first partner were her first pair team. Max Settlage
Max Settlage (born July 1, 1992) is an American former pair skater. With former partner Madeline Aaron, he is the 2014 CS U.S. Classic bronze medalist, a two-time U.S. national pewter medalist (2015–2016), and the 2014 U.S. national junior champion. Personal life Max Settlage was born on July 1, 1992 in Thừa Thiên–Huế Province, Vietnam. After being adopted, he was raised in Flagstaff, Arizona. He is a cartoonist, who has done illustrations for U.S. Figure Skating. Career Settlage began skating at age ten. His first pair skating partner was Caitlin Fields. Madeline Aaron (born October 25, 1994) is an American former pair skater. With former partner Max Settlage, she is the 2014 CS U.S. Classic bronze medalist, a two-time U.S. national pewter medalist (2015–2016), and the 2014 U.S. national junior champion. Personal life Madeline Aaron was born October 25, 1994 in Scottsdale, Arizona. After attending Chaparral High School, she enrolled at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs as a part-time nursing student. Christopher Knierim (born November 5, 1987) is an American former pair skater. With his wife, Alexa Scimeca Knierim, he is a 2018 Olympic bronze medalist in the figure skating team event, a two-time Four Continents medalist ( 2016 silver, 2014 bronze), a three-time Grand Prix medalist (1 silver, 2 bronze), and a three-time U.S. National Champion (2015, 2018, 2020).
