Kate Darby
Kate Darby (born 18 November 1990) is an Australian rules footballer who played for the Carlton Football Club in the AFL Women's competition (AFLW). She was drafted by Carlton with the club's sixteenth selection and the one hundred and twenty sixth overall in the 2016 AFL Women's draft. She made her debut in round 2, 2017 AFL Women's season, 2017, in a match against at Princes Park (stadium), Ikon Park. She was dropped from the team the following week however and would not return until the final match of the season in round 7. She was subsequently delisted at season's end. In May 2018 Darby accepted an offer from expansion club Geelong Football Club#AFL Women's team, Geelong to play with the club in the 2019 AFLW season. In June 2021, she was delisted by Geelong. Princes Park (or Carlton Recreation Ground, currently known by its sponsored name Ikon Park) is an Australian rules football ground located inside the wider Princes Park, Carlton, Princes Park in the inner Melbourne suburb of Carlton North, Victoria, Carlton North. In the sport of Australian rules football, each of the eighteen players in a team is assigned to a particular named position on the field of play. These positions describe both the player's main role and by implication their location on the ground. As the game has evolved, tactics and team formations have changed, and the names of the positions and the duties involved have evolved too. There are 18 positions in Australian rules football, not including four (sometimes 6–8) interchange players who may replace another player on the ground at any time during play. Renee Garing (born 4 September 1988) is an Australian rules footballer with the Geelong Football Club in the AFL Women's (AFLW). Garing was recruited directly from Geelong's VFL Women's team prior to the club's inaugural season in the AFLW.
