The Katandra Football Netball Club, nicknamed the ''Kats'', is an Australian rules football and netball club based in the small Victoria, Australia, Victorian town of Katandra West, Victoria, Katandra West. The club teams currently compete in the Picola & District Football Netball League, Picola & District Football League. History After much talk in the district for many years the Katandra Football club was founded in 1911. Their first opponents were Rockville and Pine Grove. Reforming after World War I in the 1922 the club played in a small local association centered around Dookie, Victoria, Dookie. The small completion lasted until the height of the depression before taking a break for a few years. The town is located in the Shire of Moira Local government in Australia, local government area, from the state capital, Melbourne. At the , Picola had a population of 334. Stan Le Lievre
Stan Le Lievre (31 July 1920 – 18 March 2003) was an Australian rules footballer who played with St Kilda in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Career Le Lievre came from Katandra and had a stint with the St Kilda seconds in 1940, before joining the senior list in 1945. He made 12 appearances for St Kilda in the 1945 VFL season, as a centre half-forward. Before the 1946 season began, St Kilda lost the services of full-back Ken Walker, who left to coach Burnie. This meant Le Lievre was tried at full-back, when he played his first game of the season in round eight. He lost his place in the team after two games, before he returned in round 17 and played in the final three rounds. In the opening round of the 1947 VFL season, Le Lievre was reported for "hacking" (forcing an opponent off balance by taking out his feet). David Teague (born 5 May 1981) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for North Melbourne and Carlton in the Australian Football League and was the senior coach of the Carlton Football Club, from 2019 to 2021. Derek Hall (born 29 November 1970) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with the West Coast Eagles and Geelong in the Australian Football League (AFL). Early life A basketball player in his youth, Hall was brought up in the Western Australian town of Harvey. Although he was picked up by West Coast in the 1990 AFL draft, Hall continued playing for West Perth in the WAFL. Hall, a strong marking forward, had to wait until 1993 to break into the AFL and made two appearances. He spent 1994 in the WAFL and topped West Perth's goal-kicking for the second time. Rod Grinter
Rodney 'Balls' Grinter (born 26 May 1965) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for Melbourne Football Club, Melbourne in the Australian Football League, VFL and AFL. Grinter is most remembered for an incident in Round 2 of the 1988 VFL season when he punched Footscray defender Terry Wallace in the face, rendering Wallace unconscious. Both field umpires failed to report Grinter for the incident, but he received a six-week suspension for the incident after a VFL investigation.
