Kat Tolentino
Katrina Mae De Lara Tolentino (born January 27, 1995) is a Filipino-Canadian volleyball player who currently plays for the Choco Mucho Flying Titans in the Premier Volleyball League. Personal life Tolentino came from a Filipino-Canadian sports family in British Columbia. She studied in McMath Secondary School in Richmond, British Columbia in Canada before moving to the Philippines and study at Ateneo de Manila University. Her brother, Vince, played for the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters basketball team. Before moving to the Philippines, Kat already suffered two anterior cruciate ligament injury (ACL) on her left knee and just as she was set to debut for Ateneo Lady Eagles volleyball team in 2015, she tore her right one during a game in the Shakey’s V-League and had to undergo Anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction and months of rehab all over again. UAAP Season 79 Volleyball Tournaments
The UAAP Season 79 volleyball tournaments started on February 4, 2017 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, with the opening games of the men and women's senior volleyball tourneys, participated by 8 regular UAAP members. Aside from the Smart Araneta Coliseum, the games will also be held at the Filoil Flying V Centre, San Juan City and the Mall of Asia Arena, Pasay. The tournament host is the University of Santo Tomas, the season's host school. Rustico "Otie" Camangian will serve as the commissioner of the tournament. The Ateneo Blue Eagles completed a historic 16-game season sweep earning their 3rd consecutive title against the NU Bulldogs whom they tamed for 12 straight head-to-head matchups since Season 77. Shakey's V-League 13th Season Collegiate Conference
The Shakey's V-League 13th Season Collegiate Conference is the 26th conference of the Shakey's V-League and the second conference for its 13th season. The conference was started on July 30, 2016 at the Ynares Sports Arena with the first two games of the conference. Majority of the games will be held at the Philsports Arena, Pasig. There are ten (10) competing teams (5 from UAAP, 4 from NCAA and 1 from ISAA) who will split into two brackets for this conference, which served as a pre-season tournament for collegiate leagues. 2016 ASEAN University Games
The 2016 ASEAN University Games, officially known as the 18th ASEAN University Games, was a Southeast Asian university multi-sports event held in Singapore. This was the third time Singapore hosted the ASEAN University Games, and its first time since 1994. Previously, Singapore also hosted the 1986 games. The games was held from 10 to 19 July 2016, although several events had commenced from 9 July 2016. Around 1000 athletes from 11 participating nations participated at the games which featured 173 events in 15 sports. It was opened by Ong Ye Kung, the acting minister of education of Singapore at the Nanyang Technological University. The final medal tally was led by Thailand, with host Singapore in fifth place. UAAP Season 78 Volleyball Tournaments
The UAAP Season 78 high school volleyball tournament started on August 22, 2015. The tournament venue is the Adamson University Gym in San Marcelino St., Ermita, Manila. Adamson is the tournament host. The number of participating schools in the boys' and girls' tournaments both increased to seven. Far Eastern University fielded boys' and girls' volleyball teams beginning season 77. Since there are now seven participating schools, the tournaments have a Final Four format. The UAAP Board decided to move the high school volleyball tournaments from 2nd semester to 1st semester due to the basketball juniors tournament being moved from the 1st semester to 2nd semester.
