Kasat Suek
Kasat Suek ( th, กษัตริย์ศึก, ) refers to an intersection and its corresponding bridge on the periphery of Pom Prap Sattru Phai and Pathum Wan Districts, Bangkok. The intersection is also known by the names Bobae Intersection and Yotse Intersection. Characteristics and history Kasat Suek Intersection is a four-way intersection between Rama I, Krung Kasem, and Bamrung Mueang Roads, considered to be the end of Bamrung Mueang and the beginning of Rama I. It takes its name from Kasat Suek Bridge, which is on Rama I Road next to the intersection. Kasat Suek Bridge is composed of two sections, one across the railway from the nearby Bangkok railway station and the other across from Khlong Phadung Krung Kasem (Phadung Krung Kasem Canal) towards the intersection. Khlong Maha Nak ( th, คลองมหานาค, ) is one of five ''khwaengs'' (subdistricts) of Pom Prap Sattru Phai District, Bangkok. Naming It is named after the Khlong Maha Nak canal that flows through and bisects the area. Geography Roads neighboring this subdistrict include (from the north clockwise): Lan Luang, Worachak, Bamrung Mueang, Krung Kasem. Khlong Maha Nak, Khlong Phadung Krung Kasem, and Khlong Saen Saep are main watercourses. The market area has two huge wholesale shopping areas, Bobae Market and Bobae Tower. Pratunam, written as Pratu Nam ( th, ประตูน้ำ, ), is an intersection and neighborhood in Bangkok. It is located in Thanon Phaya Thai sub-district, Ratchathewi district. It is the intersection of Phetchaburi, Ratchadamri and Ratchaprarop roads. The next intersection on Ratchaprarop side is Makkasan. The term "Pratunam" means "water gate", as at one time there was a water gate within nearby Sa Pathum Palace, which commonly was known as ''Pratunam Wang Sa Pathum'' or ''Pratunam Sa Pathum'' (ประตูน้ำวังสระปทุม, ประตูน้ำสระปทุม). Lert Sreshthaputra ( th, เลิศ เศรษฐบุตร), or Nai Lert (, literally "Mr. Lert"), was known as a Thailand’s first and foremost developer, investor as well as preserver of Bangkok’s environment. The Chakri dynasty ( th, ราชวงศ์ จักรี, , , ) is the current reigning dynasty of the Kingdom of Thailand, the head of the house is the king, who is head of state. The family has ruled Thailand since the founding of the Rattanakosin Era and the city of Bangkok in 1782; following the end of Taksin Thonburi's reign, when the capital of Siam shifted to Bangkok. Phra Phutthayotfa Chulalok Maharaj (, 20 March 1737 – 7 September 1809), personal name Thongduang (), also known as Rama I, was the founder of the Rattanakosin Kingdom and the first monarch of the reigning Chakri dynasty of Siam (now Thailand). His full title in Thai is ''Phra Bat Somdet Phra Paramoruracha Mahachakkriborommanat Phra Phutthayotfa Chulalok'' (). He ascended the throne in 1782, following the deposition of King Taksin of Thonburi. He was also celebrated as the founder of Rattanakosin (now Bangkok) as the new capital of the reunited kingdom.
