Karol Borys
Karol Borys (born 28 September 2006) is a Polish professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Śląsk Wrocław. Club career Karol Borys first played in Otmuchów before joining the Śląsk Wrocław Academy in 2013. He signed his first professional contract there in October 2021, having previously attended a trial at Manchester United. On 21 May 2022, Borys made his professional debut for Śląsk's first team, coming on as a substitute in the last 20 minutes of a 3–4 home loss to Górnik Zabrze during the last matchday of the 2021–22 season. Otmuchów
Otmuchów (pronounced: ; german: Ottmachau) is a town in Nysa County, Opole Voivodeship, Poland, with 6,581 inhabitants (2019). Etymology The city was mentioned for the first time as ''Otemochow'' in 1155. It was named in its Old Polish form ''Othmuchow'' in the 13th-century ''Book of Henryków''. The name ''Othmuchow'' was also listed in the Chronicles of the Kingdom of Poland written in the years 1455-1480 by Jan Długosz and the Latinized name ''Othmuchouie'' appeared in the '' Statuta synodalia episcoporum Wratislaviensium'' from 1475. Poland Ekstraklasa (), meaning "Extra Class" in Polish, named PKO Ekstraklasa since the 2019–20 season due to its sponsorship by PKO Bank Polski, is the top Polish professional league for men's association football teams. Mirosław Mieczysław Pękala (born 15 October 1961) was a former Polish international footballer who played as a midfielder. His playing career lasted 11 years during which time he played for Śląsk Wrocław and Lechia Gdańsk. Career Born in Kłodzko, Pękala started playing football for his local team Nysa Kłodzko. He eventually joined Piast Nowa Ruda, being transferred to Śląsk Wrocław at the age of 15. He made his league debut for Śląsk in August 1977 against Ruch Chorzów at the age of 15, being the youngest ever player to have played for the team. After shining in his early years, his high amount of playing time and early exposure to alcohol abuse took its toll on Pękala's development. During his time with Śląsk he was involved in a night of drinking when he and three other players partied in a T-34 tank outside of a Soviet cemetery.
