Karmrashen, Aragatsotn
Karmrashen ( hy, Կարմրաշեն) is a village in the northern part of the Aragatsotn Province of Armenia. The village is home to the Saint Astvatsatsin Church of 1865, a rock cut shrine, ruins of a fortress, and several khachkars. History In World War I, during the Battle of Sardarabad, Karmrashen (then called Kirmizlu) was a site of military activity. It was passed through by Armenian forces on 27-28 May 1918 to rapidly penetrate into Sogyutlu. Demographics In 2001, Karmrashen had a ''de jure'' population of 634, consisting of 308 males and 326 females. However, its ''de facto'' population was lower, laying at 582, consisting of 267 males and 315 females. Aragatsotn Province
Aragatsotn ( hy, Արագածոտն, ) is a province ('' marz'') of Armenia. It is located in the western part of the country. The capital and largest city of the province is the town of Ashtarak. The Statistical Committee of Armenia reported its population was 132,925 in the 2011 census. Etymology Literally meaning "the foot of Aragats" (the highest mountain of Armenia), it is named after the Aragatsotn canton of the historic Ayrarat province of Ancient Armenia, ruled by the Amatuni noble family under the reign of the Arsacid Dynasty. Geography Aragatsotn Province occupies the northwestern part of Armenia and covers an area of 2,756 km2 (9.3% of the total area of Armenia). World War I

Battle Of Sardarabad
The Battle of Sardarabad ( hy, Սարդարապատի ճակատամարտ, translit=Sardarapati chakatamart; tr, Serdarabad Muharebesi) was a battle of the Caucasus campaign of World War I that took place near Sardarabad, Armenia, from 21 to 29 May 1918, between the regular Armenian military units and militia on one side and the Ottoman army that had invaded Eastern Armenia on the other. As Sardarabad is approximately west of the capital of Yerevan, the battle not only halted the Ottoman advance into the rest of Armenia, but also prevented the complete destruction of the Armenian nation. Sarnaghbyur ( hy, Սառնաղբյուր) is a village in the Ani Municipality of the Shirak Province of Armenia Armenia (), , group=pron officially the Republic of Armenia,, is a landlocked country in the Armenian Highlands of Western Asia.The UNbr>classification of world regions places Armenia in Western Asia; the CIA World Factbook , , and ''Ox ....
