Karlstorp, spelled ''Carlstorp'' in old writings, is a small village in Vetlanda Municipality in Jönköping County Jönköping County ( sv, Jönköpings län) is a county or '' län'' in southern Sweden. It borders the counties of Halland, Västra Götaland, Östergötland, Kalmar and Kronoberg. The total county population was 356,291 inhabitants in Sept ..., in southern Sweden. Otto Lindblad
Otto Jonas Lindblad (31 March 1809 – 26 January 1864), was a Swedish composer. He is most famous for the musical score of '' Kungssången'', the Swedish royal anthem. Otto Lindblad was the son of a clergyman. He was born in Karlstorp and attended gymnasium in Växjö. In 1829 he began academic studies at the University of Lund. In Lund, he formed a group with A. E. Christernin and J. Meurling, together with whom he played and sang a type of three part music pieces. The group became known as the "musical trefoil band". In 1836 he ended his studies and fully devoted his time to music. Two years later he formed the Lund Student Singers Association. On 5 December 1844 he presented the Royal Anthem for the first time, at a celebration for King Oscar I. In 1846 Lindblad undertook a national tour with the noted Lund Quartet. Vetlanda Municipality
Vetlanda Municipality (''Vetlanda kommun'') is a municipality in Jönköping County, southern Sweden. The town of Vetlanda is the municipality's seat. The municipality was created in 1971 when the ''City of Vetlanda'' (instituted in 1920) was amalgamated with the surrounding rural municipalities to form a unitary municipality. In 1863, when the first local government acts in Sweden came into force, there were more than 20 entities within the area of the present municipality. Vetlanda is the birthplace of Johan Franzén, a professional ice hockey center who played for the Detroit Red Wings of the National Hockey League. Mariannelund
Mariannelund is a locality situated in Hässleby parish in Eksjö Municipality, Jönköping County, in the region of Småland, Sweden with 1,468 inhabitants in 2010. Mariannelund is situated in the Småland highlands (elevation 118–280 metres above sea level), 39 km east of Eksjö. A railway running from Jönköping by lake Vättern to the Baltic Sea crosses through Mariannelund as well as the coast to coast road number 40. The river Bruza floats through Mariannelund and is part of the greater Em river system. The industry is dominated by forest and building companies. Together with the neighbouring parish of Kråkshult Mariannelund formed its own municipality (township) until it joined with Eksjö in 1971. Kungssången
''Kungssången'' (''The King's Song'') is the Swedish royal anthem. It is also known by its first line, ''Ur svenska hjärtans djup en gång'' ('' en, Once from the depths of Swedish hearts''). Although sung on such occasions as the King's birthday, the annual opening of the Riksdag and the Nobel Prize ceremony, the song is not considered the Swedish national anthem. '' Du gamla, Du fria'' is the ''de facto'' national anthem of Sweden, but has never been officially recognised. The lyrics were written by Carl Vilhelm August Strandberg and the music composed for four part male chorus by Otto Lindblad. ''Kungssången'' replaced the previous royal anthem, ''Bevare Gud vår kung'', which was sung to the melody of the British royal anthem, ''God Save the King''.
