Karl Blake
Karl Blake (born 1956 in Reading, Berkshire, England) is a vocalist, bassist, guitarist and multi-instrumentalist. Most of his own music can be described as progressive-experimental and sometimes psychedelic. Musical career Blake is most noted, in addition to his solo work, for his work with Lemon Kittens, Danielle Dax, Shock Headed Peters, Sol Invictus, Current 93, Left Hand Right Hand, Seven Pines and Gaë Bolg and the Church of Fand. Other past projects include Alternative TV, The Underneath, Evil Twin, British Racing Green and various other solo and session work. He began playing and self-recording in 1973/4, and his first band to have a commercially released record, Lemon Kittens,Strong, Martin C. Simon Finn (musician)
Simon Finn is an English psychedelic folk musician. Finn was born 4 March 1951 in Godalming, Surrey. He moved to London in 1967, where his first performance was opening for Al Stewart at the Marquee Club in Soho. He released his ''Pass the Distance'' LP in 1970, which in later years attained legendary status as it was so hard to obtain. The album featured contributions from Robert Buckland, Paul Burwell, Ken Elliot, and David Toop. "Pass the Distance" was remastered and re-released on Durtro/Jnana records in 2004 and again in 2008 on vinyl by Mayfair Music. In the same year, after a thirty-five-year absence from the music scene, he began touring again. His first performance was in support of the band Current 93 at St George the Martyr Church in Toronto in June 2004. Since then, he has performed in Moscow, Athens, Glasgow, Barcelona, New York City, Chicago and many other cities around the world. In the Nursery are an English neoclassical dark wave and martial industrial band, characterized by their cinematic sound. The duo has provided soundtracks to a variety of TV programmes and films, and is known for its rescoring of silent films. History Twin brothers Klive and Nigel Humberstone were brought up in a small village west of London. After completing secondary school, the twins relocated to Sheffield where they went to separate college campuses. By 1981 they had joined with guitar player Anthony Bennett to form In the Nursery. Influenced by Joy Division, the trio emerged alongside the UK's industrial music scene. Chrystal Belle Scrodd
Chrystal Belle Scrodd is the stage name and solo musical project of Diana Rogerson, an occasional member and associate of British experimental group Nurse With Wound. Scrodd's first album, ''The Inevitable Chrystal Belle Scrodd Record'', was released on the United Dairies label in 1985 and featured contributions from Steven Stapleton of Nurse With Wound, Robert Haigh and Karl Blake, among others. A second album, ''Belle de Jour'', was released in 1986. The 1993 compilation ''Beastings'' collects tracks from both releases, and the 1999 Nurse With Wound compilation ''The Swinging Reflective'' collects three of these recordings (credited to Diana Rogerson). Thunder Perfect Mind (Current 93 Album)
''Thunder Perfect Mind'' is an album by the English experimental group Current 93, released on 28 July 1992. It contains two tracks based on the Gnostic poem ''The Thunder, Perfect Mind'', which also gave the album its name. ''Thunder Perfect Mind'' has a companion album by the same name recorded by Nurse With Wound, released at the same time, though the two albums have little in common with each other musically. The album is one of David Tibet's more personal records, with several songs dedicated to friends, colleagues and people he had met. "All The Stars Are Dead Now" consists of a startling prophecy given to Tibet in a dream by William Blake, while the epic "Hitler As Kalki (SDM)" is dedicated to "my father, who fought Hitler." The liner notes indicate that some believed Hitler was Kalki, the tenth and final incarnation of Vishnu, who would destroy the cosmos upon a white horse at the end of each world cycle. The Devil's Steed
Sol Invictus are an English neofolk band fronted by Tony Wakeford. Wakeford has been the sole constant member of the group since its inception, although numerous musicians have contributed and collaborated with Wakeford under the Sol Invictus name over the years. Overview After disbanding his controversial project Above the Ruins, Wakeford returned to the music scene with Sol Invictus in 1987. Since then Sol Invictus has had many musician contributions, including Sarah Bradshaw, Nick Hall, Céline Marleix-Bardeau, Nathalie Van Keymeulen, Ian Read (musician), Ian Read and Karl Blake. Wakeford repeatedly referred to his work as folk noir.
