Karl-Andreas Kalmet
Karl-Andreas Kalmet (born on 8 February 1989) is an Estonian actor. Kalmet's parents are actor and director Madis Kalmet and diplomat and former actress Gita Kalmet (née Ränk). In 2008, he graduated from British School in The Netherlands in The Hague and in 2012 as an actor at from the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre's Performing Arts Department. Then, until 2015, he worked as an actor at the Tallinn City Theatre. In 2012 he co-hosted for the TV3 television series ''Eesti otsib superstaari'' with his older brother, actor Henrik Kalmet. He is an attacker in football club Tallinna FC Reaal. ''1944'' is a 2015 Estonian war drama film directed by Elmo Nüganen. The film first premiered in February 2015 in Berlin, Germany, before its release in Estonia and other Northern European countries. It was selected as the Estonian entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 88th Academy Awards but it was not nominated. As the Soviet Union advances to recapture Estonia from its German occupiers, with huge losses on both sides, the film explores the mental conflicts of young Estonians. Madis Kalmet
Madis Kalmet (born 27 January 1955, in Tallinn) is an Estonian actor and theatre director. In 1980 he graduated from the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre, Tallinn State Conservatory's Stage Art Department. 1980-1985 he was an actor, and 1985-1988 principal stage manager of Rakvere Theatre. 1989-1992 he was an actor, and 1992-1999 the theatre director of Endla Theatre. Besides stage roles he has also participated on several films. Kalmet is married to diplomat and former actress Gita Kalmet (née Ränk).
