Karina Ørum
Karina Ørum (born 29 May 1967) is a Danish professional golfer. She was the first Danish member of the Ladies European Tour, where she finished runner-up four times 1993–1997 and narrowly missed out on a Solheim Cup place. Early life and amateur career Ørum grew up the step-daughter to Peter Dangerfield, an English professional golfer who moved to Denmark as a club pro in the late 1970s. Her mother Lene ran the pro shop at the courses where the family worked; Furesø and Gilleleje Golf Clubs north of Copenhagen, Korsør Golf Club on the west coast of Sjaelland, and at Herning Golf Club on Jutland. Ørum played on the National Team and represented Denmark at the 1989 European Ladies' Team Championship in Spain, where Denmark lost to England in the quarter-final. At the 1989 Nordic Championships in Hudiksvall, Sweden, she won the team title as well as the individual strokeplay title. It was first held between 1991 and 1996, when it was dominated by Laura Davies who won four of the five tournaments played. European Ladies' Team Championship
The European Ladies' Team Championship is a European amateur team golf championship for women organised by the European Golf Association. The inaugural event was held in 1959. It was played in odd-numbered years from 1959 to 2007 and has been played annually since 2008 (with the exception of 2012). Format Currently, the championship is contested by up to 20 teams, each of 6 players. The format consists of two rounds of strokeplay, out of which the five lowest scores from each team's six players will count each day. The total addition of the five lowest scores will constitute the team's score and determine the teams qualified for the last three rounds of matchplay. The Yarra Yarra Golf Club is a private golf club in Australia, located in Victoria at Bentleigh East, a suburb southeast of Melbourne. It is one of the eight Melbourne Sandbelt championship courses and is renowned for its par-3s. It has hosted the Women's Australian Open seven times as well as several editions of the Victorian Open. The Women's Australian Open is a women's professional golf tournament played in Australia, operated by Golf Australia and the WPGA Tour of Australasia, long co-sanctioned by the Ladies European Tour (LET). Beginning with the 2012 event, it is also co-sanctioned by the U.S.-based LPGA Tour. In 2008, it was the second-richest women's golf tournament on the ALPG Tour, with a prize fund of A$500,000, and was raised to A$600,000 in 2010. With the co-sanctioning by the LPGA, the total purse was nearly doubled, and was also fixed in U.S. dollars.
