Karin Housley
Karin Housley ( ; née Locke; born January 20, 1964) is an American politician, businesswoman, and member of the Minnesota Senate. A Republican, she represents Forest Lake, Stillwater, and the surrounding St. Croix Valley. Housley was the Republican nominee in Minnesota's 2018 special election for the United States Senate. Early life, education, and career Housley was born and raised in South St. Paul, Minnesota. She graduated from South St. Paul High School in 1982 and briefly attended Augsburg College before moving to Buffalo, New York, after her high school sweetheart, Phil Housley, was drafted by the Buffalo Sabres. She enrolled at the State University of New York at Buffalo, graduating in 1987 with a B.A. in communication studies. Housley then worked as a news producer for WGRZ and WKBW in Buffalo until 1991. Buffalo Sabres
The Buffalo Sabres are a professional ice hockey team based in Buffalo, New York. The Sabres compete in the National Hockey League (NHL) as a member of the Atlantic Division in the Eastern Conference. The team was established in 1970, along with the Vancouver Canucks, when the league expanded to 14 teams. The Sabres have played their home games at KeyBank Center since 1996, having previously played at the Buffalo Memorial Auditorium since their inception. White Bear Lake, Minnesota
White Bear Lake is a city in Ramsey County in the state of Minnesota, United States. A small portion of the city also extends into Washington County. The population was 23,769 at the 2010 census. The city is located on White Bear Lake, one of the largest lakes in the Minneapolis–Saint Paul metropolitan area. Origin of name The city is named after its largest lake, White Bear Lake. Hastings, Minnesota
Hastings is a city mostly in Dakota County, Minnesota, of which it is the county seat, with a portion in Washington County, Minnesota. It is near the confluence of the Mississippi River, Mississippi, Vermillion, and St. Croix River (Wisconsin-Minnesota), St. Croix Rivers. Katie Sieben
Katie Sieben (born March 23, 1977) is an American politician who served as a member of the Minnesota Senate from 2007 to 2017. A member of the Minnesota Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party (DFL), she represented the 54th, which included portions of Dakota and Washington counties. Ms. Sieben currently serves as a commissioner of the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission, to which she was appointed by Governor Mark Dayton. Early life and education Sieben was born and raised in Newport, Minnesota. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Colorado College and a Master of Public Administration from the Harvard Kennedy School. The Minnesota Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party (DFL) is the Minnesota affiliate of the U.S. Democratic Party. An assisted living residence or assisted living facility (ALF) is a housing facility for people with disabilities or for adults who cannot or who choose not to live independently. The term is popular in the United States, but the setting is similar to a retirement home, in the sense that facilities provide a group living environment and typically cater to an older adult population.
