Karin Binder (born 28 August 1957) is a German politician and member of ''Die Linke'' (The Left). From 1975 to 1998 she was a member of the SPD. In 2005, she became a member of Die Linke. Bundestag
The Bundestag (, "Federal Diet") is the German federal parliament. It is the only federal representative body that is directly elected by the German people. It is comparable to the United States House of Representatives or the House of Commons of the United Kingdom. The Bundestag was established by Title III of the Basic Law for the Federal Republic of Germany (, ) in 1949 as one of the legislative bodies of Germany and thus it is the historical successor to the earlier Reichstag. Federal elections were held in Germany on 18 September 2005 to elect the members of the 16th Bundestag.
