Karin Andersson (politician)
Karin Elizabet Andersson (8 October 1918 – 20 July 2012) was a Swedish politician who served as Minister for Gender Equality from 1979 to 1982. Born into a farm family as one of six children, her father Elias served as municipal councillor in Varberg Municipality. She began working for ''Hallands Nyheter'' as a journalist in 1947, then worked for ''Ålandstidningen'' until 1957. In the 1960s, Andersson worked with Sveriges Radio, and also began to get involved with the Centre Party, and became the party's federal secretary in 1966, serving in that position until 1979. Halland
Halland () is one of the traditional provinces of Sweden (''landskap''), on the western coast of Götaland, southern Sweden. It borders Västergötland, Småland, Scania and the sea of Kattegat. ''Fokus'' is a Swedish-language weekly news and current affairs magazine. It was founded by Martin Ahlquist, Lars Grafström, Karin Pettersson and Martin Ådahl. Its first publishing was in December 2005. In 2007, it was awarded the Swedish Publicists' Association's grand prize. Thorbjörn Fälldin
Nils Olof Thorbjörn Fälldin (24 April 1926 – 23 July 2016) was a Swedish politician. He was Prime Minister of Sweden in three non-consecutive cabinets from 1976 to 1982, and leader of the Swedish Centre Party from 1971 to 1985. On his first appointment in 1976, he was the first non-Social Democrat Prime Minister for 40 years and the first since the 1930s not to have worked as a professional politician since his teens. He was also the last Prime Minister to not be from the Social Democrats or Moderate Party. Early life Fälldin was born in Högsjö parish, Ångermanland, the son of the farmer Nils Johan Fälldin and his wife Hulda (née Olsson). Eva Winther (née Fornander; 3 August 1921 – 26 May 2014) was a Swedish Liberal People's party politician who served as the minister for migration and gender equality in the period 1978–1979. Early life and education She was born in Stockholm on 3 August 1921 to Captain Martin Fornander and Gunhild Fornander. She received education in the field of paediatric nursing. Career Winther started her political career when she was elected to the Kiruna town council from the Liberal People's party in 1966 and remained in the post until 1976.
