''Karimugan'' () is a 2018 Indian Tamil-language romantic comedy drama film written and directed by Chella Thangaiah. The film stars folk singer Senthil Ganesh and Gayatri Rema in the main lead roles. The plot of the film based on the teenage love and about a man Karimugan who hails from Pudukkottai comes to Chennai to solve his family dispute. The music for the film and the lyrics for the film were also penned by the director Chella Thangaiah. It was released on 25 October 2018 and received extremely negative reviews from critics. Senthil Ganesh
Senthil Ganesh is an Indian folk, playback singer and actor. He rose to prominence after winning the 6th edition of the ''Airtel Super Singer'' in 2018 which was aired in Star Vijay. He made his acting debut with the film ''Thirudu Pogatha Manasu'' (2014). He married fellow folk singer Rajalakshmi in 2012. Career He pursued his interest in folk music Naattupurapaattu at the age of five and started recording songs at his young age after learning the basics of the music. He learnt music from Chella Thangaiah and recorded his first song ''Mannuketha Raagangal'' at the age of ten. He completed his primary and secondary education at a school in Alangudi, Pudukkottai and pursued his higher education at a musical college in Trichy. Gayatri Rema is an Indian actress who has appeared in Tamil language films. After portraying her first major lead role in ''Touring Talkies'' (2015), she appeared in the Tamil films ''Oruthal'' (2016) and ''Saaya'' (2017). Career Gayatri Rema made her acting debut in the anthology film ''Touring Talkies'' (2015), after being recommended by the film's lead actor S. A. Chandrasekhar. Appearing as a young girl in a "modern" relationship, the film had music composed by Ilaiyaraaja, but the film did not perform well at the box office. Gayatri later appeared in another small budget film ''Oruthal'', which received media attention after actor Jai Akash bought the distribution rights.
