Karasor, May District
Karasor ( kk, Қарасор) is a salt lake in May District, Pavlodar Region, Kazakhstan. The lake lies in the western part of May District, southwest of the town of Zhumysker. Karasor is one of the largest lakes in the district. Geography Karasor is an endorheic lake of the Kazakh Uplands. The Irtysh flows to the east of the eastern shores of the lake. There are a number of smaller lakes in its vicinity; the largest is Aktomar, to the northwest. Lake Zhamantuz (May District) lies to the west and Alkamergen further. River Tundik flows into Karasor from the west. The shape of the lake is irregular, very indented, with a southern and a western projection. Sentinel-2
Sentinel-2 is an Earth observation mission from the Copernicus Programme that systematically acquires optical imagery at high spatial resolution (10 m to 60 m) over land and coastal waters. The mission is currently a constellation with two satellites, Sentinel-2A and Sentinel-2B; a third satellite, Sentinel-2C, is currently undergoing testing in preparation for launch in 2024. The mission supports a broad range of services and applications such as agricultural monitoring, emergencies management, land cover classification or water quality. Google Earth is a computer program that renders a 3D computer graphics, 3D representation of Earth based primarily on satellite imagery. Alkamergen
Alkamergen ( kk, Алқамерген) is a lake in May District, Pavlodar Region, Kazakhstan. The lake lies in the western part of May District, northeast of the town of Bayanaul. Geography Alkamergen lies in a tectonic depression of the Kazakh Uplands, roughly to the northeast of the northeastern slopes of the Bayanaul Range. It is one of the largest lakes in the district. There are a number of smaller lakes in its vicinity. Sulysor, the largest one, is located to the west of the southern shore. Altybaysor lies to the north and larger lake Karasor to the east. River Ashchysu flows into Alkamergen from the west. The water of the lake is brackish, fresher in the spring and with increased salinity in the summer. Zhamantuz, May District
Zhamantuz ( kk, Жамантұз) is a salt lake in the May District, Pavlodar Region, Kazakhstan. The lake lies in the western part of May District, to the WSW of Maytubek village. The Bolshoy Togyzbay and Kainama winter resorts are located near the lake. The area surrounding Zhamantuz is used for livestock grazing. Geography Zhamantuz is an endorheic lake of the northern end of the Kazakh Uplands, part of the Irtysh river basin. It lies at an elevation of . The Irtysh flows to the northeast of the lake. The lake freezes in mid November and stays under ice until the second half of April.
