Kapten Röd
Björn Nilsson, better known by his stage name Kapten Röd, ("Captain Red", in Swedish), is a dancehall/ragga artist and music producer from Gothenburg, Sweden. He initially released the single "Visa ingen nåd"/"En storm är på väg" in the formation Kungariket with Tommy Tip. Kungariket was often joined by band Majorerna. In 2007, he produced ''Stjärnorna finns här'', the debut album for General Knas and Calle P. Kapten Röd. He promoted the album through taking part in a number of festivals and club gigs. In autumn 2007 he toured as ''Kapten Röd'' (literally Captain Red), with backing band Majorerna, on a tour with the Svenska Akademien. Roffe Ruff
Roffe Ruff is a Swedish hip hop and ragga artist and music producer from Gothenburg. His real identity remains a secret, and he always wears a skull mask in his appearances. Biography Roffe Ruff was raised in Majorna, the district in Gothenburg that receives most performing royalties from STIM—the Swedish collecting society. He played in his first band at the age of twelve, and recorded rap songs on a DAT recorder together with a friend when he was seventeen. They made a go for it in the music business three years later and Roffe loved the feeling to be on stage, but hated the feeling after a gig, as he felt self-contempt over the fact that his stage personality—that emanated confidence—was a lie not reflecting the real him. Labyrint (band)
Labyrint formed in 2007 was a Swedish hip hop music group from Gottsunda, Uppsala. After performing for a number of years together, in 2007, they had a breakthrough with "Vår Betong" and in 2009 collaborated with Masse from The Salazar Brothers to release a mixtape that became popular through downloads on Whoa.se website. Based on these successes, Universal Records expressed interest signing them to the label in 2011. However their launch was marred by Växjö cancelling their show after advice from the security authorities about the controversial use of cannabis during their gigs. This turned into a public debate in the media about drugs in hip hop culture. Raggamuffin music, usually abbreviated as ragga, is a subgenre of dancehall and reggae music. The instrumentals primarily consist of electronic music. Similar to hip hop, sampling often serves a prominent role in raggamuffin music. Wayne Smith's " Under Mi Sleng Teng", produced by King Jammy in 1985 on a Casio MT-40 synthesizer, is generally recognized as the seminal ragga song. "Sleng Teng" boosted Jammy's popularity immensely, and other producers quickly released their own versions of the riddim, accompanied by dozens of different vocalists.
