Kanwaljit Singh (cricketer)
Kanwaljit Singh (born 15 April 1958) is a former Indian first-class cricketer who played for Hyderabad and Tamil Nadu. He is one of the two players to have appeared in 100 matches for Hyderabad. After retirement he took up cricket coaching. Career Although Kanwaljit made his first-class debut for Hyderabad in December 1980 during the 1980–81 Ranji Trophy, he could not cement his place for many years due to the presence of senior spinners Shivlal Yadav and Arshad Ayub in the team. It was not until the 1994–95 season that he came to the limelight when he appeared for South Zone, India A and Board President's XI, and took 47 first-class wickets at an average of 21.31. In the 1998–99 season, he had to his name 51 wickets at an average of 23.58. He was one of the five cricketers to be named as Indian Cricketer of the Year in 1998. Secunderabad, also spelled as Sikandarabad (, ), is a twin cities, twin city of Hyderabad and one of the six zones of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) in the States and union territories of India, Indian state of Telangana. The India A cricket team is a national cricket team representing India. It is the second-tier of Indian international cricket, below the full India national cricket team. The team is currently captained by Priyank Panchal in first-class cricket and Sanju Samson in List A cricket. The team is coached by former Saurashtra player Shitanshu Kotak. The matches played by India A are not considered to be Test matches or One Day Internationals, instead receiving first-class and List A classification respectively. Nagaland Cricket Team
The Nagaland cricket team is a cricket team that represents the state of Nagaland in Indian domestic competitions. In July 2018, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) named the team as one of the nine new sides that would compete in domestic tournaments for the 2018–19 season, including the Ranji Trophy and the Vijay Hazare Trophy. However, the Telangana Cricket Association questioned the decision to include the team in the Ranji Trophy, stating that there should be qualification criteria to allow a team to compete. Hyderabad Cricket Association is the governing body of cricket activities in the Hyderabad and other districts in the state of Telangana in India and the Hyderabad cricket team. It is affiliated to the Board of Control for Cricket in India. The association was founded in 1934 and has been affiliated to the BCCI ever since.
