Kane Tologanak (born: ?) is a Copper Inuit and former Member of the Northwest Territories Legislature from 1979 to 1983. Tologanak was first elected to the Northwest Territories Legislature in the 1979 Northwest Territories general election. He served one term and did not return when the legislature was dissolved in 1983. Kane Tologanak was listed as a member of the Committee for "Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit in the Government of Nunavut". Copper Inuit
Copper Inuit, also known as Kitlinermiut and Inuinnait, are a Canadian Inuit group who live north of the tree line, in what is now the Kitikmeot Region of Nunavut and in the Inuvialuit Settlement Region in the Inuvik Region of the Northwest Territories. Most of them historically lived in the area around Coronation Gulf, on Victoria Island, and southern Banks Island. Their western boundary was Wise Point, near Dolphin and Union Strait. Their northwest territory was the southeast coast of Banks Island. Their southern boundary was the eastern shore of Great Bear Lake, Contwoyto Lake and Lake Beechey on the Back River. To the east, the Copper Inuit and the Netsilingmiut were separated by Perry River in Queen Maud Gulf. While Copper Inuit travelled throughout Victoria Island, to the west, they concentrated south of Walker Bay, while to the east, they were concentrated south of Denmark Bay. Donald Havioyak is a territorial-level politician in Canada. He served as a member of the Nunavut Legislature. Havioyak was elected to the Nunavut legislature in the 1999 Nunavut general election. He won the Kugluktuk electoral district with a plurality of six votes defeating three other candidates. Havioyak served one term in office, running for re-election in the 2004 Nunavut general election. He was defeated by candidate Joe Allen Evyagotailak in another very close election. Bill Lyall
William Lyall (born 1941 in Fort Ross - 28 December 2021), known as Bill Lyall, of Cambridge Bay, Nunavut, Canada, was a territorial politician. Lyall was elected to the 8th Northwest Territories Legislative Assembly in the 1975 election. Lyall grew up in Taloyoak, known then as Spence Bay, Northwest Territories, one of ten children of Ernie and Nipisha Lyall. He attended Sir John Franklin High School in Yellowknife and then a technology college in Alberta. After returning to Taloyoak, he later moved to Cambridge Bay. In 1975, he was elected to the NWT Legislature. He ran again in the 1979 election, as did his younger brother Bobby Lyall, but the election was won by Kane Tologanak. The Central Arctic was an electoral district of the Northwest Territories, Canada, created in 1966 and abolished in 1983. The district consisted of Pelly Bay, Spence Bay, Gjoa Haven, Cambridge Bay, Bathurst Inlet, Bay Chimo, Coppermine and Holman. For the 1983 election, Holman was moved to the Nunakput district and the others split between Kitikmeot West and Kitikmeot East.
