Kanal 4 (''Channel 4'') is a Danish subscription television channel operated by Warner Bros. Discovery EMEA, a subsidiary of Warner Bros. Discovery It was launched in 2006 as the successor of the former TvDanmark. Its predecessor TvDanmark was launched in 1997 as Denmark's second nationwide commercial terrestrial channel after TV 2. It was renamed TvDanmark 2 when the sister channel TvDanmark 1 was launched. When TvDanmark 1 was renamed Kanal 5, the first channel reverted to its old name before becoming Kanal 4 in 2006. On 1 January 2007, the terrestrial Kanal 4 signals were replaced by a new channel called SBS NET, while Kanal 4 continued broadcasting by satellite and cable. Boxer TV A/S is a company that is broadcasting pay television channels on the digital terrestrial television network in Denmark since February 1, 2009. It is a subsidiary of Boxer TV Access, a Swedish company which is owned by Com Hem. History Boxer won the right to build four multiplex networks to broadcast digital television in 2008. They were competing against ''Danmarks Digital TV A/S'' (owned by Telenor) and ''Danmarks TV A/S'' (owned by Modern Times Group, MTG). The procurement was organized by the government agency ''Mediesekretariatet'' and in March 2008 chose Swedish Boxer as the gatekeeper out of the three applicants. As Telenor and MTG both owned satellite platforms in Denmark, and Boxer did not have any operations in Denmark, Boxer won the contract. TV 2 (''TV to'') is a Danish government-owned broadcast and subscription television station in Denmark based in Odense, Funen. History Since 1949, Danmarks Radio had been the sole provider of television in Denmark. Wanting to end the monopoly, the Danish Parliament voted on 30 May 1986, to create TV2, as a second choice for public service television. 6'eren is a Danish subscription television channel operated by Warner Bros. Discovery EMEA. It replaced SBS Net on 1 January 2009. The channel's target audience is males, branding itself with the slogan "Denmark's got a new TV Channel - and it's for men" (Danmark har fået en ny TV-kanal, og den er for mænd). The channel also shows La Liga and FA Cup football.
