Mukim Rambai is a mukim in Tutong District, Brunei. The population was 1,404 in 2016. Geography The mukim is located in the southern part of Tutong District, bordering Mukim Lamunin to the north, the Malaysian state of Sarawak to the east and south, Mukim Sukang and Mukim Bukit Sawat in Belait District to the south-west and west respectively, and Mukim Ukong to the north-west. Demographics As of 2016 census, the population was 1,404 with males and females. The mukim had 250 households occupying 248 dwellings. The entire population lived in rural areas. Ulu Tutong Dam
The Ulu Tutong Dam is an embankment dam on the Sungai Tutong River in Tutong District, Brunei. The primary purpose of the dam is to increase water supply in Tutong and Brunei-Muara Districts by as much as annually. It has a normal reservoir volume of , making it the largest water supply project in the country. In February 2010 Sinohydro won the bid to construct the US$63 million project and construction began soon thereafter. It was originally expected to be complete in February 2014 but the date was pushed to February 2015 due to difficulties at the construction site. It was eventually fully completed in February 2017. Tasek Merimbun
Merimbun Lake () is the largest natural lake in Brunei. It is located near Mukim Rambai in the Tutong District, about 70 km from the capital, Bandar Seri Begawan. The S-shaped lake is located 27 km from Tutong Town and it is surrounded by the 7800-hectare Tasek Merimbun Heritage Park. Physical environment and facilities Tasek Merimbun is very dark in color; a phenomenon generated by tannin coming from leaves falling into the water. The lake supports a rich variety of fauna including birds, mammals, and reptiles. Visitors can hire a boat to take them around to explore the lake and its two islands. There is a small island in the center body of water that can be reached via a wooden walkway. Here, picnic pavilion facilities fashioned from logs enhance the enjoyment of this restful spot.
