Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg
Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg (Schloss Rheinsberg chamber opera) is an international opera festival for young singers, founded and first directed by composer Siegfried Matthus. It takes place every summer at the historical Schloss Rheinsberg, in Brandenburg, Germany. The festival presents the winners of the ''International Singing Competition Schloss Rheinsberg'', in which about 450 candidates from all over the world participate every year. Rheinsberg Palace (german: Schloss Rheinsberg) lies in the municipality of Rheinsberg, about northwest of Berlin in the German district of Ostprignitz-Ruppin. The Brandenburger Symphoniker is a German orchestra based in Brandenburg an der Havel. Its home venue is the there. It is affiliated to the . Gabriela Scherer (born 1981 in Zurich, Switzerland) is a Swiss mezzo-soprano. Birth and education Gabriela Scherer was born in 1981 in Zurich, Switzerland. She grew up in Switzerland where she was exposed to music at an early age. Having spent many years singing and learning music with the local choir she began her studies with Helen Keller (Smpv) in Zurich. Between 2002 and 2006, Gabriela continued her studies at the University of Mozarteum Salzburg with Prof. Horiana Branisteanu and Prof. KS Elizabeth Wilke. Andreas Karasiak (born 1968) is a German classical tenor in opera and concert. Career Andreas Karasiak studied voice at the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz with Claudia Eder. Georg Quander (born 29 November 1950) is a German opera and film director, music journalist, writer and culture manager. From 1991 to 2002, he was artistic director of the Deutsche Staatsoper Berlin. The Staatsorchester Braunschweig is a German orchestra. It was founded in 1587 by Julius, Duke of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel as his court orchestra. It worked with Franz Liszt and Richard Strauss. The Brandenburgisches Staatsorchester Frankfurt or ''BSOF'' is a symphony orchestra based in Frankfurt (Oder) in Germany. It is the orchestra of the state of Brandenburg. From 2007 to 2019 its leader has been Howard Griffiths. Since 2019 the orchestra is under the leadership of Jörg-Peter Weigle. History It was founded in 1842 and gave its first public appearance on 1 November that year at the opening of the Frankfurter Stadttheater (designed by Karl Friedrich Schinkel and built by Emil Flaminius at 22 Wilhelmsplatz), performing Albert Lortzing's Zar und Zimmermann.
