Kamla Abou Zekry
Kamla Abou Zekry (born January 8, 1974) is an Egyptian television and film director who directed well-known movies and TV series such as ''Bent Esmaha Zaat'', ''Segn El Nisaa'', and ''Wahed Sefr''. She has taken part in many international and national film festivals, including the Cairo International Film Festival, the Dubai International Film Festival, and the Venice Film Festival. Her films have also been screened at the Cannes Film Festival. Life Abou Zekry was born in Cairo, Egypt. She graduated from the High Cinema Institute, and started her film career by collaborating with Nadel Galal on ''131 Ashghal'' in 1993. Sekry has collaborated with screenwriter Mariam Naoom on several TV series. A film director controls a film's artistic and dramatic aspects and visualizes the screenplay (or script) while guiding the film crew and actors in the fulfilment of that vision. Sonallah Ibrahim
Son'allah Ibrahim ( ar, صنع الله إبراهيم ''Ṣunʻ Allāh Ibrāhīm'') (born 1937) is an Egyptian novelist and short story writer and one of the " Sixties Generation" who is known for his leftist and nationalist views which are expressed rather directly in his work. His novels, especially later ones, incorporate many excerpts from newspapers, magazines and other political sources as a way to enlighten the people about a certain political or social issue. Because of his political opinions he was imprisoned during the 1960s; his imprisonment is featured in his first book, ''That Smell'' (تلك الرائحة), which was one of the first writings in Egyptian literature to adopt a modernist tinge. The 2011 Egyptian revolution, also known as the 25 January revolution ( ar, ثورة ٢٥ يناير; ), began on 25 January 2011 and spread across Egypt. The date was set by various youth groups to coincide with the annual Egyptian "Police holiday" as a statement against increasing police brutality during the last few years of Hosni Mubarak's presidency. Fathia al-Assal ( ar , فتحية العسال , Fatḥīyah al-ʻAssāl , translit-std=ALA; February 20, 1933June 15, 2014) was an Egyptian playwright and activist. She was born in Cairo. Her father did not allow her to receive any formal schooling but she later audited classes at the Screenplay Institute. She wrote plays for radio from 1957 until 1967, when she began writing television dramas. She also wrote five novels.
