Kunene Region
Kunene is one of the fourteen regions of Namibia. Its capital is Opuwo, its governor is Marius Sheya. The region's name comes from the Kunene River which forms the northern border with Angola. Besides the capital Opuwo, the region contains the municipality of Outjo, the town Khorixas and the self-governed village Kamanjab. Themistokles Dudu Murorua
Themistokles Dudu Murorua (born 27 August 1958 in Okahandja, Otjozondjupa Region) is a Namibian politician. A member of the United Democratic Front, Murorua has been the governor of the Kunene Region since 2005. From 1999 to 2005, Murorua was a member of the National Council of Namibia and at the time the only UDF member of that body. He represented the Kamanjab Constituency. For the 2019 parliamentary election Murorua was placed second on UDF's party list. As the party gained two seats in that election he joined the National Assembly of Namibia in March 2020. Murorua is a Certified Public Accountant by profession, but has also worked with numerous wildlife organisations, including the Save the Rhino Trust. The United Democratic Front (UDF) is a political party in Namibia. Justus ǁGaroëb founded the party in 1989 and led it until 2013. He was succeeded by Apius Auchab. The South West Africa People's Organisation (, SWAPO; af, Suidwes-Afrikaanse Volks Organisasie, SWAVO; german: Südwestafrikanische Volksorganisation, SWAVO), officially known as the SWAPO Party of Namibia, is a political party and former independence movement in Namibia. Founded in 1960, it has been the governing party in Namibia since the country achieved independence in 1990. The party continues to be dominated in number and influence by the Ovambo ethnic group. SWAPO held a two-thirds majority in parliament from 1994 to 2019. 2020 Namibian Local And Regional Elections
